Jill Stuart Airy Tint CC Cream Review & Swatches

Jill Stuart CC Cream Airy Tint

Jill Stuart Airy Tint CC Cream became available in Japan in two shades. This CC Cream promises a naked finish with a pink pearl powder formulation that brightens skin and supposedly adds a natural flush of color.

Let’s take a look!

Jill Stuart Airy Tint CC Cream

CC Cream like BB Cream has become slightly overused and gets added to the name of many products even in fact when they aren’t a CC Cream or a BB Cream. I think something gets lost in translation with Jill Stuart Airy Tint CC Cream as yes, it does brighten but doesn’t technically color correct issues with your skin like perhaps redness, unevenness, or even darkness.

The pink pearl powder that they reference doesn’t actually give me a flush of anything. A natural flush of color? Hmm..is it blush or a base? I don’t see a flush of color. I do see a brightening effect but this is more about a chalkiness and some pastiness for me. It’s available in two shades as I mentioned and I snagged the second shade entitled Natural Floral Beige. The shade is a lighter beige that looks ideal for my tone at first but after I apply it goes lighter with pink undertones that gives its a chalky finish on my face. If the color works for you I imagine you’ll find it brightening and flawless but if it doesn’t, like in my case, it’ll look very unnatural and a little too light.

The consistency of the formula is lovely as it has a liquid-y formulation that reminds me of Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra Light Skin Perfecting Makeup but unlike Chanel’s formula it goes considerably drier once applied. I actually find it difficult to blend it out as thinner gel formula is lovely but runs drier and seems to set to a powder before I even apply it. Supposedly it has peach juice for moisture but honestly, there is a ton of hydration here.

You’ll find it does cover pores well and gives a soft focused finish but if your skin is drier you might feel like the chalkiness of the shade looks even worst due to that dryness. Wear time is around four hours on its own before it starts fading and under foundation it’ll have a brightening effect for several hours after application. It is sheerer so it provides sheer coverage that brightens but doesn’t necessarily conceal! I think it should do well with redness though or a ruddy complexion however, blemishes, acne scarring, dark spots, etc it won’t conceal these problems and in that case you may wish to prime with it versus use it as coverage.

It does contain an SPF 30 and has a light floral fragrance with notes of rose which disappears after application. It does contain lavender oil for those sensitive to the ingredient.

Jill Stuart Airy Tint CC Cream will likely find a more suitable fit with light skin ladies and lads with oily skin. Personally I didn’t like it for my drier skin nor did the darkest shade work for my medium fair skin. As a last resort I can mix a small amount in with my BB Cream or foundation for a brightening effect but used on its own or under foundation I didn’t really love the drier, powdery set nor did I like the pasty finish.

Oh well!

*sigh* I sure wish there was an easier way to get Jill stuff in America. Although I heard there are some cosmetics sold at the flagship store in New York City, I don’t know if that’s true. (Besides- broke students can’t really get to the city that often!)

They sell some of it at the flagship store and do ship as well for a small price…I haven’t been there in the past month so not sure if they have the CC Cream but they do carry some of the shadow palettes, glosses, etc…
