Laura Mercier Black Cherry Lip Glace Review & Swatches
Laura Mercier Black Cherry Lip Glace ($25) is one of 13 brand new Laura Mercier Lip Glace shades launched for Spring 2014. Mind you Black Cherry is kinda a vampy Fall lip color but I don’t care I’ll take Lip Glace in any shade of the rainbow because the formula rocks it.
Laura Mercier Black Cherry Lip Glace is a deep, rich cherry. The shade has a rich warmth of purple and a bit of a blackened cherry look for a true vampy finish on lips. It isn’t a fully opaque shade as my natural lip color is visible after a few applications but I did take note the formula is slightly thinner, less thick, and considerably less tacky than some of my other Lip Glaces.
Interesting thing about the formula I don’t think I’ve ever had the experience of a Lip Glace with this little stickiness to it. This shortens the wear slightly so I get about three hours in before I feel the need for a touch up. Typically Lip Glace has more of a plush tackiness much like MAC Lipglass but with a thicker consistency and a weightless feel. This new consistency is nice and quite a bit more shiny than other shades I own but I do prefer the older formulation. Mind you it could be isolated to this shade only.
Like all Lip Glaces this has a cream brulee flavor and fragrance that’s pleasant but fairly strong so beware if you’re sensitive.
I find Laura Mercier Black Cherry Lip Glace very wearable. Typically I can’t really wear vampy shades of blackened berry like this but I think the touch of sheerness to shade makes it very wearable.
Do like!
The formulation is a little different than what I’m used to from Lip Glace but the color is lovely. If you’re looking for a wearable shade of vampy cherry this would be an easy one to wear!
