MAC Mineralize Lipstick Review & Swatches
The new MAC Mineralize Glass Collection brings with it six new permanent shades of MAC Mineralize Lipstick ($22) as well! Although a bit more expensive than MAC’s original Lipstick Collection these do have a more luxurious formula.
They quite lightweight and hydrating my lasts try out with them last year.
Let’s check ’em out!
MAC Mineralize Lipstick has a soft texture with a cream finish and a certain slickness when applied allowing for a smooth, even application across lips. The texture is quite dream and has a very rich feel. Although these new shades seem to have a little bit of a thinner consistency versus the old formulation.
I thought coverage was a little sheerer as well since I did have to go over my application twice to get a fully opaque pay off. This isn’t really a big deal as they do provide excellent color but if you’re comparing them to the old formula it’s worth a mention. They are the type of lipstick that tend to accentuate every single little natural line on my lips so if you have flaky, drier areas they won’t provide as smooth a finer. These seemed to have even more moisture in comparison to the original shades. They do have a certain luminosity on my lips and have nice high shine. I get about four hours of wear with these without eating or drinking. If I’m honest they kinda remind me of some sort of luxurious tinted lip balm.

The packaging is a bit higher end when compared the MAC’s regular bullet shape. These come in a wider barrel with a magnetic closure. They are elegant with nice weight behind them but the magnetic closure comes off rather easily when I toss them in my bag. The cap just seems a little lose and the magnetic not nearly as strong as it should be to hold the cap in place.
Weirdly enough they are also smaller at 0.12 oz versus the original releases of 0.14 oz.
The price jack from the permanent MAC Lipstick range might seem high but I think the formula is quite beautiful and should be pleasing to those who like a lightweight, buttery lipstick with a nice shiny finish. In this case perhaps the price won’t bother you too much.
The six newest shades are permanent and available now at all MAC counters or online at Nordstrom.com.
