Maybelline Very Berry Baby Lips Review & Swatches

Maybelline Pink'ed Baby Lips Limited Edition Collection

Maybelline Very Berry Baby Lips is one of five limited edition Baby Lips Lip Balm released with the Maybelline Pink’ed Collection.

Very Berry is one of the more pigmented shades I’ve run across from the Baby Lips Collection so if you’ve been wanting a good deal of color pay off from this popular lip balm this is one to grab up!

Maybelline Very Berry Baby Lips

Maybelline Very Berry Baby Lips is a berry fuchsia shade that applies fully opaque. This is actually a shade you can really rave as the shade completely covers my own natural lip color and leaves behind a vibrant fuchsia in its place.

If you love the Baby Lips formula you’re bound to want a back up of Very Berry as it is one of the more pigmented shades I’ve run across.

Baby Lips are supposed to provide 8 hours of moisture to lips with a hint of color and shine. Very Berry has a nice luminous shine to it and provides equate moisture but isn’t nearly as hydrating as my drier lips need. I wouldn’t say you can get eight full hours of moisture out of these and always felt the formula was slightly over hyped. This shade isn’t only bright but a good deal longer wearing than other shades at around two to three hours with a staining effect left behind after they wear away.

This new limited edition collection is available now at drugstores so I suggest a back up of shades if you love ’em as they tend to sell out fast!

As for me, well, Baby Lips don’t excite.

Muse: I saw that you said that you have drier lips and since I have drier lips and have been hunting for what seems likes AGES for an HG lip balm, I was wondering if you had any suggestions? I have peeling flakey lips and have tried everything from EOS to Vaseline Lip Butter to Jack Black.

My feminist side hates the name, but my thrifty side was hoping these would be a cheaper alternative to Fresh Sugar lip treatments. Now that I’ve used one for a while, I think they’re pretty…meh.

Love the Sugar lip treatments! It makes me cringe to spend $20 on a lip balm though. I suppose it’s worth it because it’s the single product I own that I use every single day! Baby lips definitely can’t compare IMO. Regardless, I’m gonna pick up the berry shade after seeing the swatch… Pretty!

I think that the Baby Lips lipbalm in Cherry Me is really good as it’s really pigmented and lasts a long while, but I definitely see your point about the fact that it doesn’t hydrate your lips – I normally end up having to put my EOS lipbalm over the top!

I saw a swatch of this today in a different review and she swatched it next to pink shock. They look soooooooo similar, that I would say that they’re dupes.
