Maybelline Rose Rush Baby Lips Review & Swatches

Maybelline Rose Rush Baby Lips

Maybelline Rose Rush Baby Lips is one of several new limited edition shades that launched with the new Maybelline Pink’ed Collection for Spring 2014.

I have to admit I’m not really a massive Baby Lips fan girl! These get a lot of hype and people go completely ape $h1t over them but I fail to see why?!

But needless to say if you are a fan you’ll be happy about the new LE shades popping up now at drugstores.

Maybelline Rose Rush Baby Lips could potentially be considered the outsider as the Pink’ed Collection is all about soft pinks, roses, and berries. In the tub this looks like an orange-y coral but it actually applies as a bright orange pink. It is a bit of a chameleon you though because if you apply a little sheerer it looks more pink but heavier it looks more orange. It’s a very pretty color of you want to embrace orange for Summer but aren’t keen on going full out with the shade. This is sheerer for a touch of color but not as loud as say an orange lipstick. The color stains slightly which is nice as it wears away you won’t need to touch up. It has a touch of a sheen to it as well.

Baby Lips are a nice to have around product. They apply a hint of moisture with a balmy lighter texture as well as a hint of color. The color is fairly good for a lip balm product and isn’t too too sheer which is a plus. They wear away fairly fast though so touch ups are required. I don’t feel like they are any more moisturizing than a common lip balm product and if I’m honest I prefer Chapstick for more hydration. These do have a light fragrance and taste that’s sort of fruity citrus.

Unfortunately I don’t really get as excited about them as others do….! But like I said for a touch of moisture and color these are good to keep in your makeup bag.

Grab the Pink’ed Collection now at drugstore as it is available for a limited time only.

I purchased this item.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. I do not get the hype either. These actually dry my lips out. It looks pretty on you though 🙂

I’m a fan of these, the US version namely because what we get locally is really more balm and less color. But anyway, this looks so pretty, I must find a way to get my hands on it!
