NARS laos Matte Multiple

The NARS Matte Multiple Collection ($39) releases just in time for Summer 2014 when our faces could use a lighter, creamier blush. This new Multiple is purely matte! No sugar, no sparkle, no glitter to contend with here folks.

Available in 7 shades the NARS Matte Multiple is the perfect way to get creamy color on cheeks and lips.

I tried NARS Laos Matte Multiple which is a dusky coral with hints of pink. This is a lovely Summer-y shade as it gives a healthy hint of corally pink too cheeks. Although marketed as matte the formula does have a creamier texture that resembles that of a satin finish product. It isn’t dry nor is it dense. It’s a very creamy blush stick that blends easily onto cheeks and can easily be sheerer out or built up for a bolder look. The intensity of the color is very customizable as you control how light or dark you want the color to look.

A little does in fact go a long way so build slowly! Laos is pretty intense and from what I’ve seen of the other shades those are too. The product isn’t dewy and tries down to a very natural finish that doesn’t cling to drier areas which means it likely won’t accentuate larger pores either.

The shade wore for a solid 6 hours for me and showed minor fading at hour 7. Typically cream blushes do not wear well for me so this was quite a good wear.

The matte did scare me as I thought the dry down would be powdery but I really loved the seamless finish of this blush. It just gives cheeks a very natural look.

I dislike using Multiples on my lips as they are kinda dry to me. A little gloss will help this along but I’m also easily turned off by using a product on my lips and proceeding to follow up on cheeks and vice versa.

If you’re a cream blush fan I’d say NARS Matte Multiple gets it down right. Long wear, customizable color, pigmented, and a creamy texture make them a real win!

Available now at Sephora.com, Nordstrom.com, or at NARS counters.
