Tarte Golden Days & Sultry Nights Shadow Palette

The new Tarte Golden Days & Sultry Nights Amazonian Clay Shadow Palette ($36) is a palette that features five warm shades of eyeshadow to create two gorgeous Summer looks that Tarte released with their Summer 2014 Collection. This limited edition eyeshadow palette comes in an exotic tropical print compact featuring a how to get the look guide to create either Tarte’s Golden Days look or their Sultry Nights one.

This uses more of a traditional color scheme that brand’s embrace for Summer with warmer bronze shades and gold with a pop of aqua.

Take a look!

Tarte Golden Days & Sultry Nights Palette

By default I’m sure everyone will want to compare this to the Aqualillies for Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Eye And Cheek Palette that released with the Tarte Summer 2013 Collection.

The colors scheme is similar with browns, golds, and aqua but the actually formulation of the shadows is pretty different. I didn’t compare both palettes to be honest, as in I didn’t swatch them side by side. I did notice that the Tarte Golden Days & Sultry Nights Amazonian Clay Shadow Palette is richer in pigment and depth with considerably less frost than the Aqualillies Palette. The texture of the shadows is different as well. Tarte’s traditional shadow formula is very soft and silky but with this new palette you get more of a velvet texture that would be most comparable to Stila’s eyeshadow formula. You’re also getting a little less here as this contains five shades without a blush where as the Aqualillies Palette contains a blush as well as eight eyeshadows. I don’t mind the smaller size in all honesty as I don’t feel challenged to use every single shade…this gives you Summer basic shades without overwhelming you.

The compact comes in a really cute tropical case with a full size mirror and two get the look cards with step by step instructions to create your looks!

There are two matte shades here Toes in the Sand (matte ivory) and Espadrilles (matte taupe). Both are soft, silky, sheerer mattes that blend easily with no fall out. The other three shadows have a velvety texture with a shimmer finish. Oceanview (jade) and Tropical Sunset (bronze) both have excellent pigment with an easy to blend formula. I had issues with Caipirinha Cocktails (gold) as this is a more loosely packed shadow with a flakier texture. This applies a bit sheerer and has a considerably amount of fall out with a bit of creasing if I don’t prep well.

I created three looks with the palette and just kept add on to each of my looks. One was just a simple day look I did prepping with Toes in the Sand and contrasting Caipirinha Cocktails and Tropical Sunset. The second look I just upped slightly by lining my top lash line and my waterline. And finally for my last look I blended a bit of Oceanview on my lower lash line for a little pop.

The Tarte Golden Days & Sultry Nights Amazonian Clay Shadow Palette is a refreshing change from the normal LE palettes Tarte offers. Tarte changed up the formula slightly here so you’re getting a more velvet shadow without frostiness. It’s a fun palette to create some pretty Summer looks! I wish they included a blush versus the matte shadows to be honest because those kinda feel mismatched compared to the other shades. But none the less if you love Tarte’s offerings I’m pretty sure the Golden Days & Sultry Nights Amazonian Clay Shadow Palette will be coming home with you!

It’s available now at tartecosmetics.com and coming soon to Sephora, Ulta, etc…

Love the pop of Oceanview on your lower lash line. Great look on you!

Huh, prettier than I thought, but then again, everything seems to look pretty on you.
I’m not much of a Tarte fan because I like my eyeshadows to pack on the pigment, and I’m not into neutrals (how many can one really need), but these look like they’re not too warm. I’m especially interested in the matte taupe shade, which looks a touch grey. Perfect for my cooler coloring.

Ooooh, the aqua color looks like it might work for my troublesome seashore frost color tattoo… I actually like the simplicity of this palette:)

Do you think its worth it to keep a product because of the packaging? Lol

I experienced some major bad fallout with the light golden shade, and i really really have to build up the dark bronze shade for it to show up…

I just don’t know whether to return it or not

I bought the Tarte Be Mattenificent palette and will skip this one because I already have tones of golds and bronze and browns and coppers! That aqua green can easily be duped from my other collections. If both are the same price, which would you choose? I think the cardboard packing looks cheap. Without liner and blush, this is not a complete palette in my opinion.
