Bare Minerals Well Rested CC Eye Primer Review & Swatches
Oh how I wanted to love you Bare Minerals Well Rested CC Eye Primer but you make it so hard!
Bare Minerals Well Rested CC Eye Primer is a color-correcting eye primer that released in the Bare Minerals Well Rested Bright Eyes Fatigue Fighting Trio that’s available exclusively on QVC.com. If you want this you do need to purchase the trio set to grab it which includes this along with a full size Well Rested Eye Brightener Powder and Brush for application.
I loved the idea of the CC Eye Primer as it acts as an all over concealer of sorts to extend the wear of your shadow and even can be used under eyes to prep with but…
The color is a smidge to light for me! This comes in a chubby swivel up pencil and has a dome shape that fits the contour of eyes very nicely particularly under the sockets of your eyes. During the demon on QVC they used it under eyes as well as on lids which is exactly how I choose to use it. It has a cool, refreshing feel when applied with a creamy yet drier texture. I felt it tugged a little tiny bit as I applied it and also felt I had to tug as I blended as it isn’t quite soft enough to blend easily. But none the less it wasn’t too an application.
On the upside it’ll be a thrilling pick up for those with a far fairer skin tone of my own to act as a concealer should you like or just as a tool for brightening or even to add vibrancy to shadows by applying it to lids prior to shadow application. As a primer I didn’t feel it added longer wear to my shadows but it did create a nice base for them to adhere to and intensified shades. Under my eyes as a concealer it was just a little too pasty! The color really caters to a far fairer tone than my own. If you apply concealer on top it’ll add a bit of brightness but I still felt like the color was away off and I looked a little odd with it alone or even under concealer. For me it might have worked best to prep my lids but didn’t work so well under my eyes.
I love the idea of this and if Bare Minerals introduced it in a secondary shade for medium and darker skin tones it would probably be worth a purchase to use in conjunction with Well Rested Powder. But unfortunately the product is hindered by the lack of shades. On a positive note those who like and use the powder form of Well Rested and feel like it’s a great match for their skin tone will enjoy Bare Minerals Well Rested CC Eye Primer since the shades are spot on dupes for each other.
I wanted to love it but sadly the shade didn’t work for me!
Anyone try it?
