Natural Eyes with Bobbi Brown Sand Dune Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick
I was talking about Bobbi Brown Sand Dune Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick the day before when I reviewed Givenchy’s new Ombre Couture Cream Eyeshadow since the shade I purchased quite reminded me of Sand Dune.
Sand Dune is by go to for super Natural Eyes. It isn’t terribly pigmented but it’s a shade that gives me JUST the right amount of color on my lids to create a perfect shading on my eyes that’s both natural and pretty.
I’ve been through three of the same shade since the Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick formula launched and honestly, that’s a total feat for me as I never use anything up considering I’m always testing new products.
This is a MUSE MUST have!
Bobbi Brown Sand Dune Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick is a simple medium tan beige with a hint of orange. I think in my swatch you can’t really see the orange but on eyes you can see a hint of it. This is free of shimmer, sparkle, or glitter of any kind so it’s just a basic beige shade. Boring I know! But I swear it is one of the best natural eye looks in the world and the easiest to apply too!
Bobbi Brown Sand Dune Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick Swatches
Of course, you aren’t limited to just using this. It can act as a base for more other natural shades or a base for a deeper, darker shadow to add intensity.
Bobbi introduced Long Wear Cream Shadow Sticks in Spring 2014. They are a swivel up design that are quite similar products like Laura Mercier Caviar Pencils although I do find they are considerably less creamy. They are a little tacky but this prolongs the wear for so I can get a fairly long wear without them creasing on my drier eyes thanks to that tackiness.
I do hate one thing about the shadow sticks and that’s if I am heavy handed the dome shaped tip snaps off for some reason. I have noticed at my third purchase that they are a bit stronger but the last two I purchased did snap off which drives me bonkers as I adore the shadow so much but to buy it and have the tip snap off so easily feels like a waste. You have a little patience with building as they smear away at times but overall, they build easily. Laura Mercier does have the superior formula but lord knows I love Sand Dune so much I’ll continue to buy it no matter the quirks!
I haven’t looked in all honesty but I wonder if there’s a powder dupe of this in Bobbi’s powder range of eyeshadows or even in the Long Wear Eyeshadow Pots as I’d buy stock in the shade!
If you’re looking for a great way to get a touch of color for a natural look I’d HIGHLY suggest Sand Dune (quirks and all!).
