Dior Addict Fluid Stick Review & Swatches
Dior Addict Fluid Stick is a new exciting lipgloss slash lipstick that’s launching as part of the permanent collection for Summer 2014.
Dior Addict Fluid Stick is available in 17 highly pigmented shades that I THINK you might love on.
Take a look!
Although you might feel old hat to liquid lipstick I’m about to tell you that the Dior Addict Fluid Stick reinvents the formula. These have the formula of a gloss but not with as much shine or glossiness as one and the color of a lipstick.
Liquid lipstick for me is typically a thicker, creamy, velvety texture with a matte finish in most cases. I can think of quite a few liquid lipsticks I own that all have creamier textures. Dior creates a more smoother, glossiness texture with this new lipstick slash lipgloss formula. They aren’t sticky or tacky in anyway and have a full color payoff on a single swipe so you get an opaque finish very easily on these due to the great pigment. I don’t find them as thick as a traditional liquid lipstick and they wear considerably more lighter and comfortably than one. I did feel they settled into the natural lines of my lips but they do come with a very large sponge applicator (about twice the size of a traditional flocked sponge applicator) which allows you to easily go over them a few times for the smoothest finish. They aren’t dry on lips and they provide a little bit of moisture but not a ton. I did not detect a flavor or fragrance in the formula. Wear time is around three hours before they start fading but during that time they did not migrate or feather around my lips nor did they stain after they wore away completely. They have the high pigment of a lipstick formula and although the formula is like a gloss they do not have very much shine and produce more of a high sheen on lips. All the colors in the range are creams without any shimmer or sparkle.
Dior Addict Fluid Stick Swatches (from Left to Right Kiss Me 389, Magique 479, Wonderland 575, Artifice 639)
Each lipstick comes housed in a very large and long tube. They are a bit chubbier than a Dior Addict Lipgloss as well as a longer and the sponge applicator is quite large, even larger than the ones you on the MAC Wonder Woman Wonder Gloss. The upper part of the barrel is silver but the lower portion is clearly visible displaying the color perfectly.
I have to say the first time I tried them I wasn’t sure I liked them. They kinda had a very weird way of clinging to my lips. But the trick is to go over them a few times with the applicator to smooth out the colors. After that I kinda fell in love with them. They look very vibrant and beautiful on my lips and yes, even flawless when I take the time to properly apply.
