Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Eyeshadow Palette

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette ($60 but currently on sale for $54 at Nordstrom.com) is a new, limited edition nude eyeshadow palette that launched with the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Summer 2014 Collection.

This is unusual and quite unique palette that features five nude shadows as well as three metallics. I’m actually confused about whether I like it or not.

Find out why below.

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Palette Summer 2014

The Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette comes housed in a leopard bring plastic case with a generously sized mirror and a double sided applicator for application as well as a total of eight shadow shades. This is a big change from the Bronze Goddess Eyeshadow Palettes that Estee Lauder has released in the past. Typically Estee Lauder favors bronzes, golds, and a splash of aqua for these Summer eyeshadow palettes but this year they went completely off the reservation and introduced an entirely redesigned palette for Summer 2014.

The Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette contains five essential nude, natural matte shades of color that range from a creamy beige all the way to a soft chocolate. These shades are very, very basic with absolutely no drama. They are your basic, everyday nudes with absolutely no shimmer or sparkle of any kind. The colors are soft, silky, and blend easily on eyelids.

Towards the right hand side of the palette Estee Lauder includes three metallic shades with medium pigmentation. These are best applied wet for a liquid metal finish however, I prefer to wear them dry! The effect isn’t as metallic but still has a lovely shimmery finish. The colors have a soft texture with absolute no fall out during application.

I think the palette is lovely but for what you get very expensive. The Urban Decay Naked Palette will set you back $54 and includes 12 eyeshadows in a range of nicer natural, naked shades. This is, dare I say, uneventful in comparison.

Every girl and guy should have basic matte naked shades in their collection and likely you already do which makes the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette a bit of a miss. I also thought that the metallic shades just didn’t quite match up with the nude mattes in this compact and made for a weird eye look!

In the end, I’d say save your money on this one. You likely don’t need it.

For me look above I used two of the matte shades to contrast on my lids and I used the bronze-y copper metallic shade on my lower lash line to accent.

I agree that even though the UD naked is a couple dollars more, don’t forget that with those you get extras like lip gloss, eyeliner or eye primers.

    • Isabella Muse

confused? extras? The Naked is $54 so it is cheaper than this?

  • CatG

I understand the comparison with the Naked original given the pricen and neutral colors, but at the same time, I can definitely see the customer for this palette! I like what it has to offer, though the shades are very dupeable.

I’ve been loving Estee Lauder products recently but I’m going to have to skip out on this. Other reviews say the product isn’t anything special, either. I can see diehard Estee fans purchasing this or those who don’t really have a neutral palette, but otherwise, nooope! Thanks for your review and swatches!

I think I have one too many natural shades and this isn’t special or unique…I like how they did a few metallics with some traditional nudes but…also I feel like it’s slightly mismatched ya know? I can def see some EL fans wanting this but I just wasn’t too impressed.

I think I have every Neutral palette on the market and still this called out my name! Wore it for Easter and I loved it in spite of owning all 3 UD Nakeds and the Basics. Ugh I’m so obsessive!
Hope you had a great Easter Muse!
    Hugs.

It was lovely thanks dear and yours? I’m glad you like this one! I thought it was nice but a bit uneventful! I expected a little pop for Summer!

  • Agata

Yeah, I swatched it at Macy’s a few weeks ago and was definitely underwhelmed. Too bad, cause it had a great potential.

    • Isabella Muse

it really does…but it’s just, i dunno to expensive for what you get!

  • Gabriella

I do agree.. if the quality is the same as the 5 eyeshadows palettes there’s no comparison, it wins hands down. On my oily lid the UD can’t resist more than 3 hours without a primer, while the Estee Lauder’s stays the whole day without creasing

  • AllyS

The shades look nice but agree it seems expensive for what you get!
P.s I’m loving whatever is on your lips?!
