Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks

If bright, bold lips are your bag for Summer 2014 might I introduce you to the new Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick? According to Too Faced their new liquid lipstick has the shine of a gloss, the lasting powder of a stain, and the pigment of a liquid lipstick.

This could get interesting…!

If you’re on a bit of a budget you might want to check out the new Milani Lip Intense Liquid Color that launched for Spring 2014 as they are available in similar shades as the Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick at a budget friendly price. The formulas are quite the same but I find Too Faced’s formula pigment rich and bolder!

Melted Ruby, Melted Coral, Melted Violet, Melted Peony, Melted Nude

Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick are actually completely matte so although they have the liquid-like texture of a gloss they do not have the shine of one. If you want a more lacquered finish I’d suggest applying Too Faced Mirror Mirror Lipgloss on top of these for super pop or any highly shiny clear gloss you might have handy because unfortunately they do not bring glossiness to the table. The matte finish is actually quite wearable. I only had issues with Melted Peony which seemed to settle into the natural lines of my lips aside from that the other shades all applied evenly and smoothly. I do think they are prone to looking dry on lips aside from Melted Ruby which was the exception! So if you have drier lips you might want to apply clear gloss on top or at the least be sure to prep well prior to application. Once applied they did not move, migrate, or feather on my lips and wore for a solid five hours very comfortably. They began to fade a little bit at hour six and completely by hour seven without eating and drinking during this time. I didn’t feel like they sucked any moisture from my lips during the wear but they aren’t hydrating either. As they fade the only one shades that truly stained were Melted Ruby and Melted Violet. The other shades didn’t really leave a staining effect behind. I find the formula applies very easily thanks to the very precise tip sponge applicator. Although I dislike the squeeze method to get product to flow into the tip as you can easily over do things! They have a odd candy-floral taste and fragrance but it disappears quickly after you apply!

All in all Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick are a long wearing, pigment rich matte liquid lipstick! Some of the colors aren’t easy to pull off! I wish they had a bigger range of shades like Melted Ruby which was absolutely gorgeous…! I personally can’t see myself walking around with Melted Violet or Melted Coral in all honesty as the shades are a bit too neon! I wish they were a touch more wearable yet still as pigmented. Aside from this the formula is excellent and those who favor bold lips will adore these.

I didn’t think the shades were all that wearable but when Sephora sent me an email that they had a VIB Rouge exclusive shade I ordered it right away. I haven’t tried it yet but it looks a little more wearable. I think it’s called Melted Candy.

    • Isabella Muse

that’s prob the exclusive shade to sephora, it’s a bright fuchsia 😀

That ruby is ‘wow!’ I’m a sucker for red lipstick. Though, on you, I think my favorites were the peony and the nude. They are really feminine and pretty on you.

I think violet is really the only color that wouldn’t turn my head in the store. I could see it being fabulous on someone with a rich, dark skin color, though.

    • Isabella Muse

me too lately red has been my thing! thanks 😀 I wasn’t sure about the peony tbh! and the violet scares me hahaha! ;-D I agreed! Someone with dark skin can rock the violet hard!

I really love the shades but the price holds me back. Which is funny because im sure ive spent similar $ on other liquid type products like bite beauty cashmere lip cream. But i think my one gripe is the applicator on these. its the sole reason i hardly use my occ tars.

I’m liking the look of Melted Peony, though I have a feeling it could be a shade too light for my liking. It is not a proper dusty rose, methinks 🙁

  • Lacy

These look awesome. You wear them all well! You’re really killing it in the melted violet! I love it!!!

    • Isabella Muse
