Guerlain Terracotta Joli Teint Healthy Glow Fluid

Guerlain Terracotta Joli Teint Healthy Glow Fluid Foundation ($53) is either one of the greatest foundations I’ve ever used or one of the most confusing.

Guerlain Terracotta Joli Teint Healthy Glow Fluid Foundation is a new weightless foundation that released with the Guerlain Summer 2014 Collection which has corrective properties so skin looks radiant and even in a single application.

The confusion sets in because I see many descriptions saying this gives a touch of Summer to skin but technically that isn’t true….it almost makes it sound like it’s a bronzing foundation product of sorts. A foundation with perhaps a hint of bronze-y tint? It can be a bit weird reading the details on it.

I think it might just be a must have if you’re a fond fan of Guerlain base products as I thought it provided sheer, breathable coverage with a gorgeous finish.

Guerlain Terracotta Joli Teint Healthy Glow Fluid Foundation

One of the best reviews I’ve wrong across for Guerlain Terracotta Joli Teint Healthy Glow Fluid Foundation was from Alex at monsiieuralex.com. He sums up nicely what the foundation is and how it performs but doesn’t go into details about how it’s a bronzing fluid slash foundation which many of the reviews I’ve been reading touch on! I just feel like that’s very wrong…if anything it is most comparable to a tinted moisturizer product.

Now the thing to take into consideration here is the fact the shades do seem to run a touch darker. I think this is simply genius as Light is actually a touch of a warmer beige and considering our skin probably gets a bit darker in the Summer months this actually works out for the best. This is a creamy texture with a runny, thinner consistency. It applies easily on my drier skin and doesn’t accentuate drier skin. It does have a matte dry down but this doesn’t make it heavier nor does it look dry on skin! It actually looks incredible. This doesn’t really give skin a radiant finish or a glow of any kind it does however, have a beautiful flawless finish that’s second-skin light and very lightweight. If you have oily skin it’ll mattify skin nicely but I don’t think it’ll provide all day shine-free wear. This also contains an SPF 20.

This wears on me a solid six hours before showing minor signs of fading. I’d call the coverage sheer but it can be pressed into the realms of higher coverage if you build a bit!

I thing the think I like about Guerlain Terracotta Joli Teint Healthy Glow Fluid Foundation is that it is in fact a Summer foundation product. It’s a hint darker taking into account that sometimes our skin is a bit tanned in the Summer, it contains an SPF 20 for basic sun protection, it’s lightweight and breathable so when the weather warms up you aren’t feeling like you have a mask on, its matte enough to keep shine at bay for combination skin types easily enough…as you can see it’s just a foundation product that caters to the warmer weather.

Guerlain Terracotta Joli Teint Healthy Glow Fluid Foundation provides us with all the good things we need in a Summer foundation with weightless, flawless coverage!

It’s a little pricey but I think Guerlain fans will adore it.

Interesting that your summary of the product is that it runs a touch darker for summer complexions…when I remember how harsh this particular winter was, so I’m way lighter than normal. I think my “summer color” this year might end up being my “normal” one! 🙂
