L’Oreal Doutzen’s Nude Colour Riche Lipstick Review & Swatches

L'Oreal Doutzen's Nude Colour Riche Lipstick

L’Oreal Doutzen’s Nude Colour Riche Lipstick is the very last shade I picked up from the limited edition Collection Privee that launched for Spring 2014.

This is actually the very lightest shade in the collection as well.

Each shade of the new Collection Privee Lipsticks is inspired by a L’Oreal model or celebrity face from the past few years. The shades are supposedly flattering for that celebrity/model’s skin tone to create a perfect “nude” shade. These aren’t traditional nude shades which can be very interesting as some of the colors are quite lovely! Doutzen’s Nude is dutch model Doutzen Kroes’s shade.

Each lipstick comes housed in a matte lipstick tube with gold accents and the signature of the model or celebrity who inspired the shade in gold on the packaging.

Let’s take a look!

L’Oreal Doutzen’s Nude Colour Riche Lipstick is a pearly light baby pink with a slightly frosty finish. It’s quite a mod, nude shade of pink that should work well with a cooler skin tone. Personally I think it looks ghastly on me but someone is bound to rock it. It runs very sheer but manages to build up enough to cover my own natural lip color.

The consistency and texture of the lipstick reminds me more of a lip balm. It has a balmy texture that tugs a little bit during application and doesn’t hydrate nor does it remain moist through the wear. I find it a bit drying as the wear progresses to a point that it kinda cracks off and leaves little weird flaky pieces near the corner of my mouth. The wear time is about two hours before it just fades it flakes away.

Unfortunately L’Oreal Doutzen’s Nude Colour Riche Lipstick is one of the shades in the collection that didn’t have an entirely great formula. I imagine someone is going to love the shade but personally I did not nor did the formula make it redeemable.

This one was a skip for me.

The Collection Privee is launching at drugstores now here in the US.

I purchased this item.

Thanks for letting us know. I was looking at this color at CVS today and so glad that I didn’t purchase it.

I purchased this because I absolutely love light baby pink lipsticks and this color looked beautiful in the tube. I sadly didn’t like t at all. I agree this lipstick and formula are a total miss! I ended up taking it back which I typically never do with drugstore products :(. Better luck next time:)

awwwww sorry Andrea! I think some of the shades in this collection were so pretty but the formulas were very off!

I hate it! Absolutely hate it. I saw the display and only this and Frieda (which I do kind of like) were left so I got them…curious at the concept.
This lipstick will go back. I always feel bad returning used products but won’t with this one. It is so light and frosty, it made my lips look tiny (and I don’t have tiny lips).
One of my least favorite purchases this year.
I should have read your review first…

I didn’t like the shade either! It made me look zombie girlish ;D Aw don’t feel bad! Return it!

      • meganlisa

Yes! This is one used item I don’t feel bad returning! The wear time was nonexistent and the shade unwearable (on me at least). Yes, it might be wonderful on some. Maybe. I should read your reviews before pulling out my credit card!

I’m blonde and blue-eyed like Doutzen herself and this shade worked great on me! I usually do more with my eyes (love a good smoky eye), so I like my lips to be a little more subtle. This frosty pink is my new go-to!

I know it looks ghastly alone, but on top of a more warm lipstick it’s quite nice to tone down a too-bright coral, or add some shine to a too-matte pink. I hated it when i first used it, but after a few times of wearing it and mixing and matching, I have found I reach for it a lot and people are always asking what colour I have on. I know, not the point if it’s mixed with something else.
And the smell is horrible. I didn’t have the option of refunding though so trying to find some positives 🙂

I love this lipstick, I would like to buy it but I can’t find it anywhere. Where can I buy it??? What other color would be exactly like it??
