L’Oreal Freida’s Nude Colour Riche Lipstick Review & Swatches

L'Oreal Freida's Nude Colour Riche Lipstick

L’Oreal Freida’s Nude Colour Riche Lipstick is another of the new limited edition L’Oreal Lipsticks that launched with the Collection Privee.

Each Collection Privee Lipstick is inspired by a past or present celebrity model and ambassador for L’Oreal and is a flattering shade of nude for that model’s skin tone.

L’Oreal Freida’s Nude Colour Riche Lipstick was inspired by actress and model Freida Pinto. Her shade is a very interesting color that will look fabulous on medium, tan, and caramel tones. Of course, you aren’t limited to those skin tones! If you like the shade I say buy and use it 🙂

Let’s take a look!

Each of the limited edition lipsticks have special matte black packaging with gold accents and a gold signature from the model who inspired the shade. It’s very luxurious packaging but also reminds me a bit of NARS packaging as I worry it will be a magnet for grit and grime if I decide to travel with it. So far the packaging has been holding up well on the shades I’ve tried but I noticed some of the shades I use often are kinda collecting makeup and powder fingerprints.

Freida’s Nude is a surprisingly elegant warm mauve with a frost finish! At a glance I was scared of the color since it seemed to translate as zombie lip territory to me but it actually isn’t too bad a nude on my medium fair skin. Of course, it’ll look best on a deeper skin tone but it is wearable should you have a lighter tone!

The formula isn’t as buttery as the other and feels more like a tinted lip balm consistency. I felt like I was applying some sort of balm during application and it even had a balmy finish on my lips. It isn’t moisturizing and feels a little dry through the wear but nothing too terrible. The wear time is around three hours for me, sometimes two and a half…it seems to vary but for the most part it is a shorter wearing lipstick. It does have a strong perfume-y fragrance and flavor.

Freida’s Nude is a unique and interesting shade however, it does suffer from a different set of quirkiness than the other shades in the formula department! These quirks should be taken into consideration prior to dishing out $11.99 or for it at say CVS…however, if you can grab it on sale I’d say it just might be worth a pick up.

This is the one I bought. Dusky pinks/mauves look best on me, and a good one is hard to find. I really like this color!

I like this …and I’m pretty light (blonde hair and blue eyes too). Interesting and unusual shade. The texture/formula isn’t so long wearing…but that happens…

I have a fairly light, neutral skintone, with dark hair & eyes, and I absolutely love this shade. I think it’s one of those chameleon shades that sort of morph depending on ones coloring, so it’s definitely worth looking at!

Do you know of any dupes for this shade? It’s the only lipstick I wear and L’Oréal no longer makes it.
