L’Oreal Julianne’s Nude Colour Riche Lipstick Review & Swatches

L'Oreal Julianne's Nude Colour Riche Lipstick

L’Oreal Julianne’s Nude Colour Riche Lipstick is one of several new limited edition shades launched with the L’Oreal Collection Privee Colour Riche Lipstick Collection for Spring 2014.

Each shade is inspired and celebrates a present or past face/ambassador of L’Oreal Cosmetics. This makes for an excellent round up of shades to suit a wide variety of skin tones, eye and hair shades. Of course, you aren’t limited to selecting shades depending on your skin tone as hey, no one should dictate what colors you enjoy wearing! However, it does make your selection easier as the colors are based to flatter a certain skin tone.

L’Oreal Julianne’s Nude Colour Riche Lipstick was created for a more fairer tone but I think many will like this nude pink lippie!

L’Oreal Julianne’s Nude Colour Riche Lipstick is a soft pale pink. At a glance it reminded me of Urban Decay Naked Lipstick but it’s actually a hint more cooler. It’s a blue based pink which will be MLBB (my lips but better) for certain skin tones where as others might find it’s a little deathly. I didn’t really love it on me. I wish it had a touch more warmth to it…!

All of the lipsticks from the Collection Privee Collection come in a matte black casing with gold accents and a gold autograph. The packaging is very luxe but I fear that the matte black case will become gross with use as it quite reminds me of NARS rubberized compacts.

The shades from Collection Privee seem to JUST be missing the mark for me. In the tube they are gorgeous, applied they look lovely enough, but the are missing something.

I experienced an issue with Eva’s shade where it kinda fell into my natural lip lines and with Julianne’s Nude the same thing happened. It kinda ages my lips. The good news is with a little gloss you can eliminate the issue but I think it is worth mentioning especially if you have drier lips or finely lined ones as this doesn’t provide the smoothest finish. It does have a nice easy glide across lips with a buttery texture and a satin finish that wears for around three hours to four hours. All L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipsticks have are heavily fragranced and flavored with a perfume-y scent and flavored. It doesn’t really bother me too much but again, worth a mention if you’re sensitive.

Overall, L’Oreal Julianne’s Nude Colour Riche Lipstick is going to make some lucky lady or lad a perfect my lips but better lipstick! The formula is a bit iffy but the shade is very pretty.

i thought I was nuts! So far every single shade I tried from this collection falls horribly into my natural lip lines! thank GOD someone else is experiencing this I seriously thought I was being a nit pick! ;D

I too was wondering if I was crazy haha, this was the only shade I got though. But all the reviews loved it/the formula so much so I was really surprised when I tried it :T. But I wonder if maybe the UK and the US formulas are different? Because it’s so new in the US but apparently it was out in the UK for a while, all the reviews I saw before were UK ones (and they all loved it so much).

    • Isabella Muse

i read a lot of uk blogs and unfortunately i find they rave a lot about stuff especially press samples 🙁 I think it probably is the same formula but since so many press samples went around on UK blogs you might not get the “full story” in a review….just an observation but who knows could be a different formula but I’m leaning towards saying prob the same thing we got! I really thought I was nuts because I also read a few raves US side and I still feel they kinda make my lips look dry and scaly! 🙁 the colors are nice but the formula is oddly textured for some reason!

Can’t wait to try a couple of these! Thanks for the review. P.S. Your Skin is glowing!!!

This is such a pretty lipstick but I’ll definitely have to pass. I have a ton of fine lines and I hate when lipsticks fall into them and look all gross. Ick. It’s too bad because the color and packaging looks so nice. Boo!

I’m a fine lined lip kind of gal too. Too bad there isn’t a good lip primer that doesn’t also dry the lips out. I need a product like that in my life 🙂

Hi Musey.. I got mine in the UK last summer.. it is the perfect pink on me it just works on me.. the formula? Meh.. strong smell too. I just enjoy it for what it is.. it’s my favorite drug store pink at the moment. I am super , super fair. I want a back up 😉 Need one in my purse and one at home..

Hey Hez! Glad you’re liking this one! I had the same experience! Liked the shade but the fragrance wasn’t really fab and nearly was the formula but yeah a little clear gloss helps it along 😀

I love this shade even though I’m an olive-skinned brunette. To me, it’s warm & peachy, not blue-based or cool-toned at all. I use a balm or base under most of my lipsticks anyway so I also didn’t think it exaggerated lines. Being of a certain age, I remember when all lipsticks had a signature fragrance & I always liked L’Oreal’s.

I love your blog! I don’t typically write reviews or buy drug store make up but just had to say something about this lipstick. I have way too many lipsticks, it’s borderline ridiculous and have been on the search for the perfect nude color for like EVER. I’m fair with light blonde hair and my complexion leans more pink. This is the ONLY nude lip color that has ever looked good on me, it’s perfect. I just bought my second tube of Julianne’s nude just in case it should be discontinued. All other nude lipsticks have made me look like a corpse..frustrating. I just bought Julianne’s red lipstick from the pure red collection. Another winner. Loreal is onto something. Hope this is helpful.
