Lunasol Modeling Beige Skin Review & Swatches

Lunasol Modeling Beige Skin1

Lunasol Modeling Beige Skin is a new, innovative base product that recently launched in Japan that was inspired by Lunasol’s popular Skin Modeling Eyes Beige Beige.

They call the effect of this a mannequin or model skin finish. Hmmm mannequin skin? Is that a thing now? That idea scared me a bit but having great experience with Lunasol foundations and other base products I suspected Modeling Beige Skin would be fantastic.

Shall we see?

Lunasol Modeling Beige Skin

Lunasol Modeling Beige Skin is everything I’d hoped for! This comes in a single universally flattering shade or really by definition a shade that will look best on medium or medium fair complexions (you can press that since it runs sheerer).

This is a lightly textured, water based foundation products much like Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra Light Skin Perfecting Makeup but with a creamier texture. The color is a creamy beige with strong warm beige undertones. Surprisingly enough it suited my skin tone perfectly.

If you have dark spots, blemishes, or other skin issues you are looking to cover this isn’t a product you’ll likely enjoy unless you’re merely using it as a base for another foundation. For those who like lighter, sheerer coverage that perfects but doesn’t concealer you’ll adore this. I find I can wear it either way which would be on its own as a sheer wash of color that gives my skin a flawless appearance without a light, soft finish or I can use it as a base on the days I want a little more coverage. It eases my dullness and evens out my skin tone beautifully which makes it a perfect pre-foundation wash or a lighter coverage for Summer. The light, soft texture absorbs easily into my skin with a hydrating feel that doesn’t cling to drier areas. The soft finish is neither matte nor satin but simply soft and smooth with a second-skin like feel. The wear time is a little iffy as worn alone I feel it fades rather fast at around three hours so be prepared to carry it with you if you’re uncomfortable going around without foundation for the rest of the day.

The shorter wear is a slight deal breaker but Lunasol Modeling Beige Skin is a delightful product that creates a truly gorgeous finish on skin! I wish it wore a bit longer for me but I love it none the less.

Shame about the wear time! From your description it sort of sounds like Lunasol’s version to the CC cream craze?

Bummer! I wish this came in a shade for fair skins. I’ve been on the lookout for lightweight foundations that come in light yellow shades. Chanel’s are always too rosy for me, including their new Perfection Lumiere Velvet formula!

I feel your pain Christina, I am super fair and I can’t wear Chanel or Dior foundations at all, I have really wanted to try the lightweight Chanel products that I always hear are amazing :'<
