MAC Head in the Clouds Lipstick Review & Swatches
MAC Head in the Clouds Lipstick is one of six, limited edition shades that launched recently with the MAC Playland Collection. This is such a me color! I’d highly recommend a pick up of this one as not only is the formula lovely but the color is a beautiful Summer shade that will work well into the Fall as it reminds me of autumn leaves.
Take a peek!
MAC calls Head in the Clouds Lipstick a red pearl with a frost finish. Mmm…I’m really not getting the frost factor here in all honesty!
I find the shade has a slicker look with a high sheen finish and a beautifully creamy, moisturizing feel on my lips. It wears well for a solid six hours on me without migrating or feathering and the color feels moist through the wear with a gorgeous opaque color pay off.
Honestly, frosts tend to tug on me during application so I was surprised they called this a frost. It feels more like a shimmer to me as it does have fine golden micro shimmer. The color is a stunning cherryish red but it also kinda has a hint of coral to it, could be due to the gold shimmer that gives it that orange-y reflection. It’s considerably warm so I’m not left feeling like a clown while wearing it.
I love that I don’t even have to apply gloss with it as it has a beautiful sheen to it that appears as if I’m wearing clear gloss on it already.
I can still myself wanting a backup of this shade as it truly is quite a unique red!
Loves it!
