MAC By Request Lipstick Review & Swatches
MAC Hoop and MAC Glam are two MAC By Request beloved shades that were voted by back by MAC lovers like you and will be available for a limited time at maccosmetics.com.
Let’s take a look at these beloved colors.
MAC By Request is a fun program that MAC started last year where MAC lovers could vote for their return of favorite shades. This is rather fun for me because even though I’m a MAC fan for several years these are shades I’ve never actually tried before.
There are three lipsticks total in the release, all three are available for a limited time so if it’s a shade you dearly loved back get to stockpiling backups!
Hoop and Glam Swatches
I tried out MAC Hoop Lipstick and MAC Glam myself.
MAC Glam Lipstick is a very bright, bold red with a blue undertone and a satiny matte finish. It’s quite creamy and wears like no one’s business. I’d say I can get a solid seven hours out of these without color fading and when it does finally show signs of wear it leaves a heck of a stain behind. Through the wear it wasn’t dry in the least and it applied without tugging on my drier lips. It didn’t feather or migrate either as one would expect from a shade this packed full of pigment. It’s VERY opaque so a single application will yield full color coverage.
MAC Glam Lipstick
MAC Hoop Lipstick is actually a shade I thought prettier in the matching Lipglass in this collection versus the lipstick. It’s also a color I thought I’d love but felt like the matte finish ruined slightly. It’s a cheerful rose pink will beautiful pigment that’s opaque on a single application. The color wears a shorter time for me than MAC Glam though at around three and a half hours before fading and did feel considerably dry during this time. I think the matte finish makes it look a bit chalky on me which is why a shade I’d consider a pretty MLBB (my lips but better) came across as a more zombie lip-like. You can so work this out with a bit of lipgloss on top which is exactly how I choose to wear it versus leaving it with the matte finish. It didn’t feather or migrate on me thankfully but did however, add a bit of dryness through the wear so I felt the need to lick my lips a good deal during the wear.
MAC Hoop Lipstick
MAC also launched matching Lipglasses in the By Request Collection for these lipsticks which is fab if you aren’t in love with the matte finishes as you have a matching gloss to add on top to not only add moisture but also to add intensity to the shades. Not that you’d need to mind you as they are quite beautifully pigmented already!
These new MAC By Request Lipsticks are well worth exploring as one might just jump out at you as a must have.
