Makeup and Beauty dodads

Here are a few makeup and beauty doodads that came popped up on my radar recently. Oh, wait, confused about doodads? Typically a makeup and beauty doodad for me is a sponge, an emery board, or other smaller bits and bobs.

Some of these beauty doodads are pretty nifty and handy like a sponge that’s exclusively used with your BB Cream and a cool wand for scooping the very last of your lipgloss out from the bottom of the tube!

Take a look!

1. Sephora Swoon Lip Gloss Pick Up Artist $15
You might have heard of the Swoon wand! Now it’s available at Sephora! This applicator allows you to snatch up every last drop of lip gloss from the tube! The head is non absorbing so you can scoop the very last bit of gloss out of an empty tube easily! Pretty nifty eh? Although I can’t say I’ve actually every finished a lipgloss or at least I can’t recall finishing one recently….ah the problems of having too many glosses.

2. Sephora Brush It Off Cleansing Brush Wipes $16
These aren’t actually a new doodad as Sephora has had handy cleansing brush wipes for a while. However, they are individually wrapped for easy travel! You can snag a box of 6 or 18 and use them to clean your brushes when switching up colors or for a quickie fly clean. I find these are great when I’m doing an eye look with a few shades and using the same brush to do the look as I can easily swipe off a color and they dry down is a few seconds before I can follow up quickly with my next color choice. They also do a good job cleaning brushes in between major brush cleaning!

3. Tarte Fresh Eyes Maracuja Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover Wipes $12 (Review)
Tarte’s new eye removing towelettes are infused with Maracuja and are formulated to remove all your eye makeup including waterproof mascara!

4. Pink Flip Flop Emery Board $5.50
This cute flip flop shaped emery board is perfect for pedicures! Grab it at Bath & Body Works.

5. Tarte Not So Slick Oil-Absorbing Blotting Papers $10 (Review)
Forehead a little shiny? Pat off excess oil with these new oil absorbing blotting papers from Tarte. Tuck them in your makeup bag to quickly mop up excess oil and keep skin shine-free!

6. Royal Beauty Blender $19.95
Beauty Blender’s popular sponge pops up in a new shade of royal purple for the Spring/Summer 2014 season! If the standard hot pink isn’t your thing or the white and black they recently introduced, now you can snag this popular blending brush in a beautiful hue of purple.

7. Sephora Carnavàle Makeup Sponges $8
I admit it, these pretty Summer-y sponges totally had got my attention when I saw them pop up at Sephora! Although 4 for $8 is pretty darn expensive I though the colors were lovely just not the price.

8. Sephora Double Take BB & CC Cream Sponge $8
Here’s an intriguing doodad! This is a new double sided applicator sponge designed for lighter and thinner liquid formulas that won’t absorb product. It’s meant for use with BB Creams, CC Creams, and tinted moisturizers as it has a velvet lining on one side that allows thinner formulas to apply easily onto skin for a smooth finish!

What sort of makeup and beauty doodads have you come across lately?

Do share them!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Vegas is great. I’ve finally got settled in and started figuring out where all the locals go verse the tourists. The only thing thats weird is my busy season started last week! (I’m a personal lines broker). This seems really early, I do write nationally and our phones have been insane. The only upside is more cash for pink lip gloss for me.
I actually picked up the lovecloud blush by mac yesterday. It’s super nice and a little softer than the clinique berry pop i’ve been wearing. I know a lot of bloggers raved the clinique pops and it’s a very nice blush but the wear time is so short on me. It’s virtually gone after a few hours. I opted to pass on the ombre Mac release yesterday as I have all 3 from the original launch way back when and didn’t love them. Anyways -thanks for asking about me. I hope you have an awesome weekend!

brilliant 😀 must be interesting living in Vegas! You’re lucky I am just slowing down after renewals (I do personal but mostly commercial). I don’t write nearly as much personal nowadays though as Geico is very very competitive. But the commercial side is the bread winner for me 😀 haha always good to have extra $ for makeup! really? That stinks 🙁 they wore very well on me…I really need the ombre shades but they are on back order at nordstrom I feel like I might have missed that boat unfortunately. Aw my pleasure! It was awesome although you asked me this last week haha and just replying now!

The Sephora BB&CC cream sponge look kind of like those sponge applicators in Korean BB and CC cushions. Do you know if they are similar in person?
