Mary Kay and Avon Take On CC Cream
CC Creams are trending for Summer 2014 so expect a big push with new drugstore options as well as high end ones.
Recently Avon CC Cream launched in five shades and more recently Mary Kay CC Cream became available in four.
Although we already explored Avon CC Cream let’s take another look at it as well as Mary Kay’s CC Cream.
Avon Ideal Flawless CC Color Corrector Cream ($11) does seem to win this race due to the inexpensive price tag, range of colors, as well as the higher SPF in their formula. Supposedly this formula fades the appearance of dark spots in as little as two weeks while evening skin tone and protecting it with SPF 50. The formula contains Vitamin C as well as licorice. It contains correcting pigments and pearls to improve the look of dullness.
Mary Kay CC Cream ($20) is the more lightweight formula but the price is higher. This one is limited to four shades with an SPF 15. The formula provides lightweight coverage according to the brand with a formula that evens skin tone but doesn’t technically treat.
Apparently Avon might be the winner here.
The bad new is the formula sound more like BB Cream or tinted moisturizer. Typically Asian CC Creams are available in a single white self adjusting shade. I wish we saw more of the self adjusting formula here in the US because I feel a little like I’m using a BB Cream more than a CC one. I’ve always compared CC Creams and BB Creams as BB Creams offering fuller coverage and CC Cream perfecting already good skin.
I am curious to try the formulas though! I have a feeling though that Avon’s Ideal Flawless CC Cream will be a lot like the Avon Ideal Flawless BB Cream!
