Maybelline I’m Blushing Color Elixir Review & Swatches
Maybelline I’m Blushing Color Elixir is one of the six new and limited edition shades of Maybelline Color Elixir that launched with the Summer 2014 Bleached Neons Collection.
This one passed me by as originally I thought Maybelline had launched five LE shades but actually it was six and I located this little guy recently at Walgreens well after my haul of the five shades I got at Harmons.
Let’s take a look!
If you’re picking up any of the Summer 2014 shades I’d say Maybelline I’m Blushing Color Elixir would be on you can skip if you’re a little strapped for cash. This is the shade that’s the least pigmented that I’ve tried and the one that’s the most uneventful. It looks pigmented in the tube but it actually applies with very little color and creates more of a nude-ish milky pink on lips. I find the shade unflattering on my own skin tone as it gives me a little bit of a zombie lip look. The lack of pigment in the shade does make me say, hey, you don’t really need this one.

The Elixir formula is super comfy. Typically I get four hours of wear with this formula and it keeps my lips pleasantly hydrated through that wear with a lightweight formula. I find the L’Oreal Colour Caresse Shine Stains aren’t as creamy and a bit more watery where as the L’Oreal Extraordinaire Lip Color are slightly thicker in comparison. They do have a taste and fragrance which is a cross of crem brulee, vanilla, and perfume. Some people hate the taste but I actually don’t mind it much as it fades away after a few minutes of wear.
If you’re shopping Maybelline’s Summer 2014 Collection I really think some of the Color Elixir in this collection are worthy of a purchase but I’m Blushing just wasn’t one of those shades. This one is sheer and a bit on the boring side!
Anyone grab it?
