Maybelline Luminous Lilac Color Elixir Review & Swatches

Maybelline Luminous Lilac Color Elixir is another of the newest Summer 2014 shades launched with the Bleached Neons Collection. This is a limited edition shade so if you’re loving it best grab yourself a back up or two!

Since there is a bit of a shortage of lilac or purple-y drugstore lipglosses I’d that makes Luminous Lilac special.

Maybelline Luminous Lilac Color Elixir is a true lilac shade that’s very soft and feminine on lips. It does have a slight pink to it but honestly, you’d have to stare really hard to notice that element in the shade. The great thing about Luminous Lilac is the fact that it is so true to tube on lips. The color is of medium pigmentation and does a fairly good job covering my natural lip color when I wear two layers of it. The color isn’t terribly flattering on me but I imagine someone is bound to adore this shade and the fact that applies as well as it looks in tube makes it all the better.

Maybelline Luminous Lilac Color Elixir Swatches

The Elixir formula does remind me of L’Oreal Colour Caresse Shine Stains but has way more moisture with a thicker, creamier texture when compared to L’Oreal Extraordinaire Lip Color. The formula wears for four hours and keeps lips pleasantly hydrated through the wear with a comfortably lightweight feel and a cream brulee/vanilla/perfume-y taste and fragrance.

Maybelline Luminous Lilac Color Elixir technically feels more Spring than Summer dontcha think? But none the less this is a unique shade and will be a very appealing pick up for those that love purple lippies!
