nyc Show Time Velvet Liner

NYC New York Color Cosmetics Show Time Velvet Eyeliner ($1.99) falls into our cheap thrills category with a smoother, easy gliding pencil that won’t cost the bank!

Available in three shades these traditional eyeliner pencils are a great beauty budget pick up!

NYC New York Color Cosmetics Show Time Velvet Eyeliner in Black Brown is kinda my fav beauty budget pick up at the moment. Considering I haven’t had great success with cheaper drugstore eyeliners in the same below $3 price tag I was a little skeptical about checking this out. But I sure am happy I gave it a chance because it is quite lovely.

Let me warn you this starts out a bit dense and dry at first application but it warms up quickly and provides a tug and skip-free glide across my lash line with an easy to smudge formula. I tried it out in Black Brown which is a lovely golden brown with a golden sheen! It’s really quite pretty and almost reminds me of a MAC Pearlglide!

One thing that wasn’t a go was waterline work. This didn’t really do well on my waterline so if you’re wanting to use it in this area I wouldn’t suggest it.

It had a solid wear on my drier eyes and set for an eight hour wear without smearing or fading.

For under $2 bucks I have no complaints with the NYC New York Color Cosmetics Show Time Velvet Eyeliner! Although if they’d ask me I’d love to recommend they extend the color range by a few shades.

This one is a nice cheap thrills for those on a beauty budget.

Grab it now at drugstores.

Tried it?

Ooooo…. I love colors like that! And heaven knows, cheap is getting harder and harder to find… Drugstore stuff has really gotten expensive in the last 10 years or so. Compared to high end products, I think DS prices have risen considerably more than high end items. I do so love finding cheap and good – and it sounds like this is both! Will have to scare one up soon – thanks for the tip Muse! 🙂

Oh, P.S. I *just* found a coupon on coupons.com for $1 off any NYC product of $1.72 or more! So – you can score one of these for next to nuthin!! I printed off the coupon 2x so I can get the black brown and the balck wine one…. WOOT! I love good cheap thrills! 😛

Whod’ve thunk a color called Black Brown would have such a lovely golden sheen? I’m going to have to pick this one up on my next drugstore trip! I have another NYC eye pencil (I think it’s called long wearing or waterproof) in the shade Mink, which is a pretty bronzy light brown that is nice for some lighter definition on the lower lashline.

I saw your swatch of this, and found it at one of the Walmarts here! PLUS – coupons.com has a $1 coupon off any NYC item over $1.72, so I got the black/brown and the black wine (I think that’s the proper name) Haven’t had a chance to play with them yet, but really looking forward to a cheap thrill! It’s been a long time since there was a great dirt cheap DS item…. Thanks for the heads up on this Muse!
