Tarte Lipsurgence Lipgloss Review & Swatches
Tarte LipSurgence Lip Gloss is a newly launched, permanent lipgloss that Tarte originally launched with their Color Your World Collection which was a QVC Today’s Special Value. The set came with a full size Tarte Lipsurgence in the shade True Love which is now a permanent color available in the Tarte general catalog.
For Summer 2014, Tarte relaunches Lipsurgence Lipgloss in eight permanent shades.
Take a look!
In a prior review I did I mentioned we’d likely see an entire range of colors in Spring 2015 but Tarte surprised me and snuck these out to us for Summer 2014. Well, at least half my prediction was right!
If you signed up for QVC Auto Delivery you’ll likely will own or will own three shades as with each new shipment of the Color Your World Collection you’ll get a new shade of Lipsurgence Lipgloss so beware prior to indulging in these shades as you may have new shades coming to you in both June and October with your next Color Your World Shipment!

For those who didn’t purchase the QVC set this is a brand new product to try from Tarte!
Originally when I tried Tarte True Love Lipsurgence it had a vanilla flavor but the flavor seems a little fainter now for those sensitive to flavor/fragrance in their glosses. There’s been variations on the Lipsurgence formula that Tarte has included with many of their gift sets over the years. For example, the more recent Tarte Carried Away Collector’s Set and the Tarte Crown Jewels Lipgloss Set all had Lipsurgence Lipglosses. However, this new formulation has a longer wear and better pigmentation in my opinion!

I find this formula slightly tacky which but lightweight. The finish is very comfortable and wears for a solid four hours providing a hint of glossy shine with nice sparkling color. They aren’t completely opaque but they do have enough pigment to drench lips in color while giving them a hint of shine.
One of the nicest benefits of the gloss is it keeps lips quite nicely softened and moist through the wear. I feel like I’m wearing my favorite lip balm when I wear these and well after they wear away my lips feel soft.
Overall, it’s nice to see Tarte offering more of a MAC Lipglass-like formula. There lipgloss category is a little lacking so these new Lipsurgence Lipglosses are a welcome addition to their permanent range in my opinion!
