Ulta Brilliant Color Eye Shadow Review & Swatches
Ulta Brilliant Color Eyeshadow ($10) is a new L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow dupe that popped up recently at Ulta which I wanted to try out!
I actually got them on sale for Buy 1, Get 1 Free but I should say at $10 each I think I’d rather stick with L’Oreal’s version as those are $7.99 and considerably more pigmented. Granted, not that these are sheer but I do think you get a bit more bang for your buck with L’Oreal’s version so my suggestion is wait for a sale and don’t go purchasing them for $10 each!
Take a look!
Ulta Brilliant Color Eye Shadow are available in ten shades and are a loose packed eyeshadow with a creamy texture. The formula is very much like the Infallible one but less heavier and much to my relief considerably less frosty.
The formula can be used wet for a more metallic look or dry for a satiny finish. Either way, wet or dry, I think they appear to have a very pretty metallic finish but not the hardcore frost and sparkle you get from L’Oreal’s version.

Ulta Taupe Brilliant Color Eye Shadow
Taupe and Pink
They wore well on my drier eyes with a bit of creasing heading into hour seven as well as some fading. This was of course without eyeshadow primer so I imagine the wear will be better with.
They aren’t as intense as L’Oreal’s version but I kinda don’t mind. I think L’Oreal’s version can be a bit too frosty, too cakey on my eyes, a bit too heavy sometimes…! It really varies from shade to shade with L’Oreal but they are quite heavy to me. Ulta’s version is definitely lighter with a lot less frost and sparkle and more of the metallic finish I wanted from L’Oreal’s version.
Taupe on lids
Unfortunately, Ulta Brilliant Color Eye Shadow is expensive in my humblest. If they reduced to $5-$6 I’d be more inclined to rave but I will say if you can get them at Buy 1, Get 1 Free they become a rather awesome little budget pick up!
