Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask Review & Swatches

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask

Dry lips? Cracked? Flaky? You NEED the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask my friends.

I happen to be the girl that applies lip balms and such prior to heading to bed at night. I have drier lips in the winter, fairly normal in the Summer. But man when they are dry, they are DRY! Red, flaky, angry at the world, etc…It’s not a fun experience.

I love lip scrubs and the like so when I saw Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask for the first time I was all, “Cool, a lip mask!” not really understanding what it meant. I kinda assumed it was something you’d apply and wash off.

Not the case!

I’ll start off by saying that Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask isn’t for everyone. Heck I’m surprised I like it because I dislike Jack Black Lip Balm, it’s just too thick for me!

This is SUPER thick. Thicker than petroleum jelly (it doesn’t contain petroleum)! It doesn’t melt down so it does remain fairly thick on lips but comfortable. It’s highly moisturizer and contains an active blend of agave nectar as well as jojoba oil, with a hint of vanilla extract for flavor and fragrance.

It actually reminds me of an ointment of sorts. At first application I instantly knew it would do my lips plenty good! I think the name is slightly misleading as one might assume it’s a scrub or maybe you wear it and wipe it off. It’s actually a leave on lip mask so really you might call it a lip balm or lip treatment of sorts. It does act as a mask though since as you wear it, it’ll provide hydration and acts to soften your lips so if you apply it night you’ll wake up with SUPER smooth lips!

It seems like the perfect addition to an anti-aging arsenal as it’ll keep your lips very soft, very smooth, and very hydrated therefore preventing lines in the future.

If you have issues with drier lips, redness, constant chapped lips, flakiness, etc…I’d say give Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask a go. You have to be willing to contend with a thick formula but it is worth the effort as this is a deliciously moisturizing treat for lips!

Available now at Sephora and Sephora.com.

So I love this mask but I hate the packaging. I tried to roll it up like a toothpaste tube and it split on me and I had to keep it in a ziplock baggie before just giving up and tossing it. Great product, bad packaging.

sorry to hear that.. the packaging is a common complaint on the sephora website… i squeezed mine into one of the sephora sample jars and use it that way… so yeah.. the pkging was soooo difficult to get the product out.. maybe they’ll change it in the future.

It looks like Philosophy Kiss Me, the original plain formula, but that is thinner than petroleum. So the formulas probably don’t compare. This would give me a reason to finally try a purchase from Bite. Hmmmm…

I bought this 5 months ago and its a hit or miss product for me. Last night I put it on before bed and it seemed like I kept reapplying it every 10 minutes because it just was wearing off. Other times I’ll put it on and be good for a few hours. I also don’t like the metal tube because I tried rolling it down like a tube a toothpaste because I didn’t want to start with push in the middle. The metal thinned out and it has a few holes so the product comes out of the crimp now instead of the intended opening. But the no petroleum make up for the little irks.

I’ve been using this since it came out and L.O.V.E. it! My lips have never been in better condition. Yes it’s thick as thick can be so I just use it at night. And sisters…. if you do this… you’ll wake up in the morning and it’s still there!!! this is a good thing!! It’s pricey for the size of the tube but you only need a tiny bit and if you’re only using it at night then it will last for months. Muse I’m so glad you found this and “mused” over it here for all to hear about because it really will become your reader’s holy grail of lip conditioners. I’ve pretty well thrown everything else away.
