Covergirl Clean Makeup Remover Wipes Review

Covergirl Clean Makeup Remover Wipes

Don’t quote me but Covergirl Clean Makeup Remover Wipes ($5.99 for 25) are the brand’s first every makeup removal wipe. Feel free to correct me but I don’t think I can recall Covergirl having makeup remover wipes available in the past.

These are launching now as a permanent part of the Covergirl Collection with a that promotion that features Katy Perry. Between Pink, Katy Perry, the Hunger Games Collection, and a newly repromoted “fun” Covergirl Smoochies Lip Balm, you can really see that the brand is pushing to gain a more youthful market where as their Covergirl Olay Collection is more for a mature purchaser.

These new Clean Makeup Remover Wipes are obviously also geared towards teens with their colorful packaging!

Take a look!

Covergirl Clean Makeup Remover Wipes are a nice large cleansing wipe that isn’t heavily saturated with remover. They are kinda dry to the touch but they do a fairly good job swiping away makeup and removing about 60% of my waterproof mascara. As is the case with many makeup wipes these are a little bit of a fail at removing waterproof mascara. But when you’re in a hurry and just wanna get to bed but don’t want to head to bed with makeup on these are a good way to do a quickie makeup removal! They have a soft, clean scent that’s quite subtle compared to other makeup remover wipes I’ve tried.

Honestly, these aren’t really special. They are nice enough but I prefer my wipes a little “wetter”. If you really want a nice and new makeup remover wipe to try I’d highly suggest Clean & Clear Night Relaxing All in One Cleansing Wipes or the new exfoliating Olay Fresh Effects Exfoliating Wet Cloths.

Nothing against Covergirl but Clean Makeup Remover Wipes are pretty basic in a rather vast market of cleansing wipes. There isn’t anything here to set them apart from what other brands offer and really they are kinda mediocre in comparison!

Covergirl Clean Makeup Remover Wipes are available now at drugstores.

Thanks for the review! What do you rec’d (reactive, dry skin)? Have a great one!

I also prefer wetter wipes, scary to see so many lashes on yours!

The Olay fresh effects works for me too. I like the ones that are not exfoliating. But I only use these in a pinch — it’s better to take off makeup with cleansing crème. Less rubbing.

But we all know sometimes you’re just too tired to properly cleanse, tone and moisturize so this at least gets the makeup off before you go to bed.

I haven’t tried these yet, but I have used a lot of different wipes like these. If the wipes feel dry just try setting them upside down (with the part you peel away to open facing down). A little bit of water added usually doesn’t hurt, either. I prefer my wipes nice and moist. I’ve had some packs start out dry and end up soggy on the last few sheets until I started storing my packs this way.
Thanks for the review, though! I think I’ll pass on these and try the olay exfoliating ones!

I bought these the other day and I too find they’re dry but also scratchy. In addition, the solution burns around my eyes. I’m going to use up the pack but definitely am not buying them again.
