Covergirl Colorlicious Lipgloss Review & Swatches
Covergirl Colorlicious Lipgloss ($7.99) is a new Summer 2014 Lipgloss formula that’s popping up at drugstores now in 13 shades. I think Covergirl is a little lacking in the gloss department so a new range of juicy lipglosses for Summer sounds like a great idea to me.
The Covergirl Colorlicious Lipgloss Collection promises a highly glossy and pigmented finish with a moisturizing formula. They call the packaging a true to tube color so what you see in tubes is what you get on lips.
I disagree with some of the marketing on these so let’s take a look at my review!
Covergirl Colorlicious Lipgloss are a thinner non sticky lightweight gloss with a sheer finish. These have a sweet vanilla flavor and fragrance that’s quite strong but fades fairly quickly after application. They are marketed as a pigmented formula however, I do think they run sheerer and even some of the darker shades that a friend purchased for me are translucent enough that my natural lip color peeps through!

I think by drugstore gloss formula standards this is a fairly nice one. It’s thin, very comfortable on lips with zero tackiness or stickiness. It’s incredibly lightweight and has a nice bit of color (I wouldn’t say medium but it can be built nicely) but not full opaque coverage. The sponge applicator saturates well with color and applies product nicely to lips. They also feel nicely hydrating on my drier lips with a smooth, even finish with a nice bit of shine and glossiness.

Unfortunately, they wear for about an hour at best before they slip and slide away. They don’t migrate or feather during the wear but they do just sort of disappear after 60 or so minutes. The gloss formula is a bit too thin for longer wear and also the lack of tackiness means they aren’t adhering well to lips so they just kinda fade away quickly.
If you like lighter glosses and don’t mind the shorter wear you might just enjoy Covergirl Colorlicious Lipgloss. For some I think the scent and flavor will be a deal breaker as well as the short wear. On the upside they are nicely glossy with a lighter texture that’s ideal for Summer wearing when you don’t want a ton of sticky, heavy gloss on your lips!
These are available now at drugstores.
