Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation Review & Swatches

Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation

Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation is a new oil free foundation that Covergirl is launching for Summer 2014 (it’s actually already in stores).

Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Oil Free Foundation is a product that should be appealing to a more youthful ground since Covergirl has Katy Perry promoting it plus the packaging is a little bit fun and hip as well.

If you like lighter, creamier coverage you’ll enjoy this.

Take a peek!

Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation is a perfect Summer release in my opinion. They did good here. Sure it lacks SPF but I use my own SPF anyway so I don’t mind in the least.

This is a creamy sheerer foundation (It kinda reminds me of Covergirl NatureLuxe Silk Foundation but has a little bit of a thicker consistency). It evens outs my skin tone, brightens skin, and gives me a fresh, natural finish. It doesn’t settle on drier areas of my face and has a lighter, matte finish that curbs oily very well (I have a good deal of oily areas now that the weather is warmning up around here). The coverage is surprisingly good so it’ll ease redness, conceal minor darkness and blemishes while giving skin a beautiful, natural look. It isn’t going to conceal major issues but I think most will be satisfied with the coverage it does offer.

The texture is that of a BB Cream but a little less creamier. I don’t typically migrate towards matte foundations even in the warmer weather when my skin becomes a bit combination simply because they tend to look very dry and give my skin a lackluster appearance. This surprisingly looks very natural and feels very lightweight. It sort of sets to the same finish I get from my Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector. It keeps shine and oil at bay for a solid five to six hours and wears for just as long if not longer. At around hour seven I saw a little fading but not much! Which is amazing for drugstore foundation.

It is fragrance free so no worries for those sensitive to scented foundation. Between the lightweight coverage, natural finish, and easy to blend formula that keeps my skin shine-free I’d say that Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation is shaping up into a rather nice Summer base!

This one is worth a try out!

I picked this up on a whim last week since my local Wags was having a super clearance sale, and I must say…I was pleasantly surprised! Loved the wear, coverage and feel (plus it was a good color match for my fair skin for once without any oxidizing.) Cheap thrill to say the least 🙂

agreed! I was too! I expected to dislike it! but it was quite nice! Good oil control, lightweight, very natural! surprised was I!

Hollie Eats Lipstick gave this stuff a terrible review. I don’t know what to think now! She said it oxidizes like crazy and that the shade range is very limited. Might not matter, though, because my skin tone is pretty much medium.

    • Isabella Muse

i can only speak from my experience Clio but didn’t have any issues with it oxidizing. They have twelve shades which isn’t a huge handicap! Try it, keep your receipt, return if you hate it 🙂

Thanks for the review! I have been wanting to try this. I have oily skin but still want a lil bit of coverage. I use my own spf as well – in summer I use the L’oreal advanced suncare silky sheer face spf 50 because it dries to a smooth matte finish.
Thank you Muse! I am so glad you are back from vacation – missed you! xoxo

miss ya pack dear! 😀 I think if you want something light with oil control you’ll love this Katherine! I was pleasantly suprised by it!

I used to LOVE the Natureluxe Silk foundation. In fact I think I still have a tube or two that I grabbed on clearance when they discontinued it.

However I’ve moved on to Clinique Even Better liquid foundation and I’m hooked on that one now. I can’t say enough good things about the coverage, wear time, and how my skin after a month actually feels less dry and I haven’t broken out as much.

clinique even better liquid foundation is divine excellent pick sara!

I liked CG foundations years ago. They didn’t oxidize, had truly neutral shades, and non-matte finishes. I didn’t like the addition of Noxell, though, which dried out and irritated my skin (not to mention the horrid smell…), but I may give this a try-if I find it really cheap.

looking at the tubes, i can already tell that all the shades would be too pink for me

Muse I have a question, I really like the revlon lipstick that’s in the she’s so mean lyric video(matchbox 20) and I can’t read the number and I was wondering if you’d check it to see what you thought it was. It’s around 1:14. I think it could be coralberry but I might be wrong.

  • Eriu

Love your review, Muse! I gotta try this as the formula seems right up my alley!

    • Isabella Muse

aw thanks eriu! love to hear your thoughts when you tried!

  • Abryda

I was pleasantly surprised also. I really like it & I have Normal/Dry skin.

I picked this up recently and liked the formula, which worked really well on my combo skin (the dry parts have been extra-dry lately, ugh). It was nice…except the lightest shade was too dark for me, and that was before it oxidized. 🙁 I might try it again later this summer if my skin gets a bit darker.

    • Isabella Muse

happy to hear you liked it jenny so sorry it oxidized though, that’s the worst 🙁

Where is this found? I couldn’t find it on Covergirl’s website or my favorite drugstore.
