About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. This palette with two mattes (and cake tightliner I’ve been wanting to try) seems like possibly my perfect palette. But $95 is cray. I do have a Nordstrom note waiting to be used but $75 is still cray too! Unless the brushes are phenomenal. Then maybe.

  • Melanie

What!! Is it just me or is it that every time a new product launches from this line the price goes up?? I just don’t think Laura mercier products are worth the price tag. Way way over priced… I have given up in this line totally.

  • Marilyn

I think she’s getting kinda pricey on her palettes! I wanted the last artist palette but it was so much higher than the one at Christmas. 2 samples didn’t justify that price hike! Yikes!

  • Claudia

If I had $95, I’d get it. I have a few of her brushes and they are fantastic. I wouldn’t mind paying the price for 5 of her brushes and 5 eye shadows. The brushes seem perfect for travel

  • Deborah

$95 for Laura Mercier? Absolutely not. Chanel maybe. Not LM!

  • Christa

The brushes are phenomenal, with this one i can make the best thightliner ever!

  • Helena

Like the shades in this one but for 95$ it’s too expensive. 😛

  • Viola

Ground espresso and fresco aren’t exclusive to this palette, they are from the Artist Palette of 2013. I assume watching that product sell out in days convinced Laura Mercier they were underpricing their eye shadows, c.f. Artist Palette 2014.

  • Bonnie

I have purchased Laura Mercier eyeshadows previously at a perilously expensive price, only to easily find dupes in the drugstore that worked just as well. Seriously. The quality is OK but not $95 OK (it will be much more in Canada by the way). I do like the way the palette is laid out with the cute brushes but I’m going to take a pass.

  • Athena

I’d die to get my hands on this baby, but $95? Come on! It can’t be worth that much.

  • renu

Just too expensive, wanted the Artist’s palette but about $40-50 is the most I would pay for a palette.
Someone (Bonnie) mentioned finding dupes, could you list some.
    Thanks.

  • Robyn

I guess the price is high due to the fact that the palette includes what amounts to five brushes – along with five shadows. Looks awesome..but yeah. I’ll skip due to the cost. I don’t need those five brushes.

  • Jessica

I love a good neutral shadow palette and I generally love LM but NO WAY for $95!

  • Maggie

It is on the high side, but I must admit her brushes are fan-freaking-tastic, so I’m sure that’s where a large portion of the price comes from. I’m hit or miss with her shadows, but I’m a full-fledged tightline cake liner addict…nothing is easier to tightline with (for me at least, I always seems to poke myself in the eyeball when I try with pencils.)

  • Majick

You know, I can’t even begin to comment on the rise of makeup prices – along with everything else. They keep telling us the economy is getting better. FOR WHOM?

I think they keep raising prices because NO one is really buying. All the stuff that sells out? Marketing. They are creating HYPE.

I guess you caught me on a really bad day.

THis looks like the perfect palette. And, with all the included brushes it could almost be worth it. ALMOST. I would say if you didn’t have a neutral palette or ANY brushes – try to find it for 20% off and bite. You might have a great, travel friendly item. And, if the brushes are as good as one of LM brushes I have (was given to me by a makeup artist) they they will last a long time with proper care.

Well, thanks for listening to me. I gotta go to a class now.

  • Lisa

I love Laura Mercier. I have two of her shadow palettes, and a face palette. But this price point it just too expensive. Also the shades that they are calling LE were in one of the artist palettes. I have to ask, who is buying $95 make up palettes? I wonder how well her last palette with Nordstrom sold?

  • Coco

I ordered it, partly because of the brushes included….how handy that will be! I also am intrigued by the cake eyeliner in the “exclusive” color. I didn’t want to buy black and this looks really dark without the harshness of black.

  • Flor
