MAC Maleficent Anthurium Pro Longwear Lipglass Review & Swatches
MAC Maleficent Anthurium Pro Longwear Lipglass ($22) is a new limited edition shade inspired by the new Maleficent that debuts at theaters later this month.
Unlike the Maleficent Lipstick this shade runs cooler to me but should pair up nicely with the lipstick because it morphs to a warmer shade once applied.
Take a look!
I described the Maleficent Lipstick as a maroon but this is a more cooler cherry red at a glance with absolutely no shimmer or sparkle. It’ll likely look warmer or cooler depending on your skin tone because that’s what happened to me when I applied. I feel it looks cooler in the tube but applies with a bit more warmth on my lips. The cream finish is quite glossy on lips with a thicker, sticky texture that wears for about four hours. It has a smooth finish on my lips without migrating of feathering and applies opaque on a single application with a vibrant, even finish.

I actually like the lipstick shade a bit more than the lipglass shade so if you can only purchase one of the two due to budget reasons I’d settle on the lipstick.
I wasn’t particularly keen on any of the Maleficent packaging. I wanted something a little more glam. But I do think the logo they used looks nicest on the lipglass. Since the logo is a set of black wings it’s hard to see it against the backdrop of the black tubes and compacts the MAC choose to go with. The black wings against the red lipglass looks considerably nice and more easily visible compared to other pieces in the collection!
I realize the shade isn’t exactly inspiring of the cartoon version of Sleeping Beauty but you have to remember this inspired by a more vampy, glamorous Maleficent in the live action film so the shade is quite fitting for this.
