MAC Natural Beauty Powder Review & Swatches
MAC Natural Beauty Powder ($30) is a new, limited edition Beauty Powder that will be popping up with the MAC Maleficent Collection later this Summer.
It comes housed in a black lacquered case with a set of devious wings embracing the Disney Maleficent logo. I’m not really sure how I feel about the packaging as of yet! I know the MAC Maleficent Collection on a whole failed to excite me and I might just feel the same about the packaging as well. It’s a bit uneventful….? It does however, have that movie tie in vibe which could be considered incredible if you’re a massive fan of the movie or it could be too much of a sell out for those who aren’t really into the film and more about cartoon version of Maleficent.
The good news is that the powder is lovely and worth a haul for those who do a good deal of contouring work or those wanting a multitasking highlighter slash facial powder.
MAC Natural Beauty Powder is a soft beige powder with a smooth, silky feel and a hint of pale pink. It has a hint of golden shimmer there’s barely visible. The shade looks almost like a pastel washed out peach to me. It’s very flattering on my medium fair skin and works great as a face powder should I want to use it all over. I personally take an eyeshadow blending brush, swirl it in the powder, and stroke it under my eye sockets and down the sides of my nose to brighten up my face.
MAC Beauty Powder is one of those versatile products, depending on the shade, that works as a face powder, blush, highlighter, etc…in the case of Natural Beauty it works great as a highlighter, for contouring under eyes, and even as a finioshing powder of sorts. It’s a bit too sheer to act as a blush in my opinion and a bit too light for darker or tanned skin that want to use it for a finishing powder as it could go pasty but as a highlighter it works a treat!
MAC Natural Beauty Powder Swatches
I’d suggesting dusting it on but not applying heavily if you aren’t fair. I used it down the side of my nose, at the tops of my cheek bones just right at my eye sockets, and this gave me a nice brightness without looking like a disco ball!
The powder itself is lovely but I wouldn’t say it’s something that reminds me of Maleficent….! Obviously Angelina Jolie is a far more elegant Maleficent than we know but even with her makeup as in the movie I wouldn’t say Natural Beauty Powder was something that they used to create her look.
But makeup especially MAC makeup is all about imagination so I’m sure you can find a place in your devilish look for MAC Natural Beauty Powder even if it is a bit innocent looking.
It’ll be available shortly along with the rest of the MAC Maleficent Makeup Collection.
