Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer & Blush Review & Swatches

Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer & Blush

Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer & Blush are a new Summer 2014 launch that are available now at drugstores for $4.99 each in three different shades.

I don’t use a ton of bronzer but when I do I typically use it along with blush because it makes the finish a bit more wearable to me as bronzer alone makes my skin look a bit lackluster and dull.

Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer & Blush is a nice idea as it combines both a bronzer and a blush but you’re actually getting more bronzer in the compact than blush.

Take a look!

Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer & Blush is a larger disk style bronzer compact that weights in at 0.46 oz in size. It features a dominate bronzing shade as a background. The blush shade is in the form of a palm tree and sun design! It’s quite smallish in size compared to how much bronzer you get so you are getting more bronzer than blush here. You can’t use the shades separately and are forced to swirl both colors together to make them work. The design doesn’t disappear after a few uses nor is it an over spray!

Wet n Wild introduced Color Icon Bronzer & Blush in three shades that run from lighter (which is more of a highlighter than a bronzer) to very dark. Hold Me Close is a shade that acts more as a highlighter in my opinion as this is the lightest shade and a softer shade of champagne beige. Dusk Till Dawn is the medium shade where as Everything Under the Sun is the depest shade.

These are fairly accurate shades of bronzer that aren’t overly muddy or orange. Unfortunately I find the formula a bit dry. I expected them to be very powder-y for some reason but the texture is very dense and I struggled slightly picking up color with my brush. After a few uses they become a bit silkier but the initial tries I find them very try and less than pigmented. Lucky enough the buff into a smooth, even satin finish on skin without clinging to drier areas and likely won’t accentuate pores. I’m unsure at this point if I am thankful for the drier texture as this consistency means you can’t over do application. If you’re looking for a lot of pigment in your bronzer you’ll be a bit disappointed with these as the dryness means you get a sheerer color pay off.

I wouldn’t call them a complete bust though. I was pleasantly surprised with how nice they looked on. They add a nice bit of warmth to my complexion without being shimmery or frosty! I think the blush portion does add a hint of color to the overall look as well which means you aren’t left with a muddy finish but more of a sunny glow with a hint of color as well!

The texture might be off putting to some but if you’re willing to work for for it you might find that the Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer & Blush aren’t too bad a product but if I were you I’d indulge in NYX Bronzer & Blusher Combo Compacts as the formula is way better!
