Avon Anew Reversalist Complete Renewal Express Wrinkle Smoother Review

Avon Anew Reversalist Complete Renewal Express Wrinkle Smoother1

Avon Anew Reversalist Complete Renewal Express Wrinkle Smoother say that three times. How about we just cut it down to Avon Express Wrinkle Smoother? Yeah, that’s better! I know the first time I saw Avon Anew Reversalist Complete Renewal Express Wrinkle Smoother I had to try it and review it because I am so obsessed with these newfangled solid primers and perfectors.

My personal favorite that doesn’t leave my side is Mally Face Defender but others around like Young Blood Anti-Shine Mattifier and now even a drugstore version from Covergirl called Tru Magic Skin Perfector Mattifier.

Avon actually promotes their Express Wrinkle Smoother as a skincare of sorts, it even listed under makeup on their website!

Let’s take a peek!

Avon Express Wrinkle Smoother

Avon Anew Reversalist Complete Renewal Express Wrinkle Smoother comes housed in a mirror compact which slides upwards to reveal the balm. It does not come with a sponge for application unlike Mally’s Face Defender and actually is recommended for use with fingers. This could potentially be an issue for many folks (such as myself) who aren’t keen on touching product to apply due to bacteria.

This a solid balm that looks and feels like a liquid primer that has been poured into a pan and left to harden. It has a dense yet creamy texture which applies like a cream but sets to a matte powder-like finish. It does have a silicone-y texture and feel. According to Avon it can be patted on crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles, and expression lines. It can used under or over makeup so you can prep with it or apply it after you’ve applied your makeup. Simply smooth a finger in the balm and tap your finger where you want to fill finer lines and wrinkles. It has a smooth, velvety finish on skin with a breathable, lightweight finish.

According to Avon it is formulated with Tri-Elastinex to enhance skin cells’ ability to renew, regenerate and reconstruct itself. That’s a pretty hefty claim and I can’t speak for it working in such a way as I’ve only been using it for about two weeks now.

Interestingly enough they don’t really market it for pores! Or even for under eye use. It actually is a nice way to prep under your eyes as it’ll smooth finer lines and even fill them slightly to allow concealer to have a smoother finish under finely lined eyes. It also does a nice job with smaller visible pores. For example, I do not have visible pores anyway on my face but my nose and this smooths them away instantly upon application. It should do well with smaller pores as it’ll fill and blur their appearance.

Avon Anew Express Wrinkle Smoother

I dislike it doesn’t have a sponge! I also think the texture is lighter than Mally’s version so I guess less of an airbrushed appearance after using it due to the thinner consistency in comparison to Face Defender. And above all else it is expensive at $30 ($26 on sale). Mally’s version is around the same price range but I find her product works considerably better at creating a really airbrushed finish where as I am not getting that with Avon’s formula as much so if I’m spending money I might as well go with Mally’s version that does work for me.

On the upside Avon has SO many sales you can score this at a deal sooner or later. I got mine for $17 on E-bay (I still thought that was expensive).

Avon Anew Reversalist Complete Renewal Express Wrinkle Smoother is a nice product. It’s a cool one to have around for touch up jobs but not something that does a good job all over my face! I’d liken it to Covergirl’s formula the most and Covergirl’s formula as we all know is considerably cheaper! Nicely formulated but a bit expensive for what it does do.

Available now from Avon.

I really hate that it contains so many silicones! And to be honest, I don’t see any effect unless I pat it very carefully on the desired areas. If I smooth it (as you would do in a hurry) it just doesn’t work… Well, this is supposed to be a touch up product, so I’m not keen on having to be extra careful with it 🙁

Hi muse! I’d like to start off by saying I SIMPLY ADORE YOUR BLOG. BEST BEAUTY BLOG EVER. I follow it religiously. Okay, now that that’s out of the way, I was wondering if you could give me some advice? You see, where I live, makeup can be found but not in my shades (not to mention it is expensive, and I’m wary of buying stuff online) but I happen to be going on vacation and id like to stock up on some. I’m 18, I have black hair and black eyes and tan skin, just your average indian. What do you think I should stock up on? I need foundation, an eyeshadow palette (that actually shows up on my skin), primer, concealer, maybe a sheer lipstick or two (I’m not big on the lips, I have a couple of favourites I stick to), and GOOD makeup brushes (not too expensive though!)). I would really appreciate it if you could recommend some specific products that would suit indian skin and work in summer as well. Thank you!

Avon already had one..I think I even seen u talking about it..it was called magix..I i didnt like that one either..personally not one has been up to par with Mally’s. The day a more affordable mally dupe becomes available I will be happy!

Did you try the Covergirl TruMagic silicone..thingy when it cam eout last year Muse? I didn’t like that one…but just wondering how this compares to that if you used it. ty!

Ah never mind I see you’ve already covered that!! 🙂 I can safely skip this one then. Awesome:)

I love Avon, so glad to see you review their goodies often😀
Also glad you saved me time, money and disappointment by reviewing this stuff. I love CG’s mattifier, works pretty dang good for the $7 I paid. I used BeneFit Dr Feelgood until my face decided to become itchy/sting-y/burn-y from it, so I’d been on the hunt for another mattifier for quite a long while. Still love trying out everything, but not if it’s gonna cost a heap and turn out meh. I guess Avon could say this thing is pricey bc of the skin care element in the formula, but who knows, huh

aw I’m so glad I helped Charmaine 🙂 Mally’s Face defender is worth the splurge imho!
