Avon Ideal Flawless Tinted Moisturizer Review & Swatches

Avon Tinted Moisturizer

I recently purchased Avon Ideal Flawless Tinted Moisturizer because I’m all about lighter coverage lately although I might have already discovered by HG (holy grail) Summer foundation in the new It Cosmetics CC+ Veil Beauty Fluid Foundation! But hey, more lighter coverage, always welcome around here.

I also recently tried the Avon Ideal Flawless CC Cream which did disappoint so I had higher hopes to the Avon Ideal Flawless Tinted Moisturizer!

Here are some thoughts!

Avon Ideal Flawless Tinted Moisturizer

Someday some brand is going to create a tinted moisturizer as awesome as Laura Mercier’s formula but with a touch more pigment. Brands shy away from pigment when it comes to tinted moisturizer and sure, I understand why however, a little bit more won’t hurt anyone.

Avon Ideal Flawless Tinted Moisturizer is beautifully formulated. This is a thinner yet creamy consistency that actually provides excellent moisture and leaves my drier skin with a dewy finish. It’s lightweight, breathable, and very pleasant to wear. Unfortunately it is very, very, very sheer. I’m typically ok with sheerer coverage as I don’t require a ton of foundation as my skin is blemish free. My main issues are dryness and dullness so I look to my foundation or BB Cream to ease dullness and brighten skin while not adhering to those drier areas.

Avon Ideal Flawless Tinted Moisturizer would actually be great if it had a touch more pigment. Unfortunately once applied it doesn’t brighten, doesn’t ease dullness, nor does it even out skin tone. It’s just too, too sheer! They got the texture and formula down beautifully here but the product needs a little more pigment to actually work. It quite reminds me of Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream. That’s another example of a beautifully formulated product that simply lacks the pigment to actually work.

So really, in the end, you feel like you’re applying moisturizer without any coverage. I appreciated tinted moisturizer for what it is, sheer coverage that evens out skin tone, but unfortunately Avon Ideal Flawless Tinted Moisturizer provides the moisture just not the coverage or even the SPF (it contains SPF 20 but doesn’t protection against UVA/UVB rays) I personally need!

Oh well!

Anyone try it?

I was lemming this when I saw it on the site. I tried the cc cream and I’m almost done with it. I use it under avon mineral powder but I find its not emolient enough and my powder doesn’t blend out very well.I know you have dry skin and I have combination but do you have any recs for a bb or cc or tinted moisturizer drug store that may work well under mineral powder. Cov.erage is not too important because I get most of that from the powder. I do have breakouts from time to time.

try the lightweight nyc one I linked above lacy…it’s absorbs easily into skin and doesn’t leave it too dewy so it should work nicely under powder!

Do you have any suggestions for a reasonably priced tinted moisturizer that is, you know, actually tinted! Lol… I have a Stila Tinted Moisturizer and I like it, but it’s not quite my shade (too yellow). Any decent options in the drug store? I like the idea of the product, but I need somewhere in between a lightly tinted formula and full on liquid foundation.

Ahhh I was JUST at the NYC makeup display in Wal-Mart. Can’t remember if I saw it or not. Either way, I shall have to pick it up from somewhere. $3.99? STEAL!

I bought the NYC BB cream from Target on Thursday and I wore it both days this weekend. It is great! I was going to be outside a lot and I didn’t want heavy makeup on, so I put my SPF sunscreen under it and then applied it on top. It looks really natural with enough coverage. I went with Light, since I’m pretty pale and it blended well with my skintone. Definitely didn’t look yellow. This will be great for wearing this summer when I want low maintenance makeup. It doesn’t say on the bottle if it has any SPF in it though…

Great review. I was a bit disappointed with this as well. 🙁

There are too many skin tones to match. My solution is to put many small dots of BOTH favourite moisturizer AND foundation all over face and just blend
