Chanel Innocence Joues Contraste Powder Blush Review & Swatches

Chanel Innocence Blush

Chanel Innocence Joues Contraste Powder Blush ($45) is a new Fall 2014 shade of Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush that launched with the Chanel Collection Etats Poetiques.

Let’s take a look!

I actually LOVE Chanel Innocence Joues Contraste Powder Blush but I was hoping for more of a dusky rose on my cheeks than it provides. This comes across very cool pink on me due to the warmth of my skin at the moment (I tan easily even slathered in a ton of SPF) so I’m kinda hoping in the Fall when my skin is a bit paler that it’ll be a bit warmer.

Chanel Innocence Joues Contraste Powder Blush is one of those shades you can’t over do and it has this really beautiful semi-matte finish that adds a nice radiance to my complexion. The texture is smooth and silky but I have to be very light during application as it likes to apply a bit patchy and uneven on my drier skin. Gently buffing ensures color goes on smooth and even!

I do wish the color was more true to pan but as you can see below it comes across a cooler pink. It’s one of those shades that is quite pigmented but for folks like me, those with a heavy hand, you can’t easily over do the color as it applies light and fresh every single time.

Do you like the shade?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Love this color on you, Isabella! Now i’m kinda wishing I hadn’t just recently purchased two new blushes: Clarins powder blush in Miami Pink and Bobbi Brown’s pot rouge in Raspberry.

Oh well, come fall it might be time for a revisit to the cosmetics counter! The Chanel blush might be even better for fall than Clarins Miami Pink, which, as the name implies, has quite a bit of peach in it as well as pink. It’s probably more of a summer shade.

The Chanel counter might not have the blush until closer to fall anyway.

I think Raspberry is stunning and a great purchase Susannah 🙂 Nordstrom’s counters already have Fall out which made me gasp! but you have plenty of time to decide so many new things popping up sometimes it is better to wait and see how it goes 😀

Thanks for vote of confidence for Raspberry. It’s very natural looking which I like.

Have you ever tried Clarin’s Miami Pink? I would think with your skin tone it would look great on you! What do you think about Clarins blushes in general?

ditto! I’m an over-doer with blush and Raspberry is perfect for natural color! I don’t own Miami Pink but do have a few other Prodige Illuminating Cheek Color, my feelings vary for them though! some are so silky where as others are really dense! It’s a weird formula for me. imho clarins doesn’t have enough blush options, I’d wish they’d do more, but I do LOVE their le highlighters as they always work great as a blush for me 😀

I haven’t tried the Miami Pink yet, other than at the counter. It’s still in the box at home! Sometimes I buy something just to have it, then it sits in the box for awhile until I get around to opening it.

I know you’re a big blush gal from reading your blog. Not me — I’m more of a lipstick gal!

In fact, you’ve inspired me to step out of the box and try some new blushes. Thank You!

I still want to get my hands on Perricone’s no blush blusher when it comes out in the fall. Intrigued by the concept!
