Chanel Coco Shine Lipstick Viva Rouge

Chanel Viva (95) Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick ($35) is one of three new shades of Chanel Coco Shine Lipstick that launches with the Chanel Collection Etats Poetiques for Fall 2014.

I’m such a major fan girl for the Chanel Coco Shine Lipstick formula but just wish they were a little cheaper, sheepish grin!

Chanel Viva Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick is a bright shade of wearable fuchsia. I actually typically stay away from fuchsia and although cooler with bluer undertones I found Viva Rouge surprisingly wearable!

Viva Rouge applies sheer at first pass but it builds up considerably better after the initial layer and wears for about three hours on my drier lips. I really like the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick because it not only has a great glide across lips but feels very hydrating on and has a nice glossy finish that looks like I applied gloss on top of it.

Chanel does call Viva Rouge an intense shade but I think the color has a subtly to it as it isn’t a loud in your face kinda fuchsia! I have to admit the shade felt more Summer for me than Fall but since Chanel is going very bright with their Fall look it does fit right in!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. This looks beautiful on you! I’m tempted to purchase this color; I’ve definitely been getting into brighter colors lately!

I definitely am shy when it comes to brighter colors. Guess it’s time to follow the herd, though. This looks great!

This is super pretty. I’m getting my makeup done by a chanel makeup artist, July 10th and I can’t hardly wait:) I want this shade. I have blue eyes and fair skin, this looks super wearable, I love hot pink lips! Never boring and never gets old. Makes you look young and fresh.

I like bluer based shades on myself, I love it on you, Muse. I guess I’ll just have to purchase it to see how I like the color…I have hungry DD’s when it comes to giving beauty items away I don’t love..lol

To me, the biggest difference between drugstore and high end is the wearability of the colors. I like brands like NYX, but most of the time, their lipsticks in particular get shoved to the back of the drawer because the colors are harsh and unwearable. This Chanel lipstick is fuchsia but it’s a wearable fuchsia. It’s an absolutely gorgeous color. Muse, I wish you had a tip jar so I could drop in a few bucks every time you give me a great recommendation! 🙂

aw LOL I heart you 🙂 thanks Linda! I concur! I love NYX but the colors are sometimes too harsh! This is a very subtle, wearable shade of fuchsia 🙂
