Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer

Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer recently launched with the Too Faced Smitten Kitten Fall 2014 Collection and will be available as part of the permanent Too Faced Collection.

This silicone-free facial primer promises to boost skin’s radiance and moisture thanks to an infusion of coconut water and it’s kinda turning into this dry skin girl’s BFF!

Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer is a silicone-free facial and makeup primer infused with coconut water, probiotics and skin revivers that work together to boost skins radiance, promote elasticity and help hydrate while extending the wear of makeup.

This comes in a squeeze tube with an attached pump for easy application. It’s formulated to brighten, tone, hydrate, and firm skin thus giving it the look of eight hours of sleep or as if you had plenty of water to hydrate your skin.

In my experience with it I wouldn’t call it a great pick for oily skin but I’m sure that drier skin folks are going to love it. Considering the primer world is filled with matte options and not so many silicone-free or moisturizing primers I think Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer will get a big welcome for the drier skin girls and guys out there or those with more mature skin. I personally have drier and duller skin so my complexion soaks this up!

This does have a subtle coconut water scent that’s quite pleasant but not so noticeable or easy to detect. The formula is a thinner, creamy texture that applies with a bit of stickiness at first but sets to a dewy finish. The formula is nothing like my beloved Clarins Beauty Flash Balm but it does have a similar great effect on my skin. It just gives my duller skin that freshly washed glow! It eases dullness slightly and sets a soft surface for my makeup to apply over. I have drier cheeks and forehead (although I am a bit more oily now that Summer is here) so I’m always looking to smooth these areas over so makeup doesn’t stick to them. This creates a nice, fresh, soft surface allowing my makeup to apply smoothly and not to sit on top of my drier areas. Considering it provides excellent moisture it also allows my makeup to wear remain fresher as it isn’t being soaked up by dryness and has a lightly moist area to adhere to. I didn’t see too much of an extension in the wear of my foundation but it did aid in making my makeup apply easier and look fresher and smoother!

If you have more mature skin or drier skin I think you’ll get on very well with Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer!

It’s available now at toofaced.com and at Sephora, Ulta, and other locations.

Will you be indulging?

Holy typos, Batman! You might want to re-read the paragraph above the final photo where I think its supposed to say ‘girls and guys’…

I totally did a double take on that one…

Two words: MUST GET! Lucky I’m off to Sephora this weekend (brow bar appointment) so I will make sure to pick this up. I love the idea of silicone-free. I’ve used both silicone-based and non silicone-based primers and serums and it’s pretty clear that my skin has a problem with silicone.

This will be my first Too Faced purchase. I’ve checked and they are cruelty-free so I doubt I will be able to limit myself to just one Too Faced product…

haven’t seen it there yet, online yes, but not in stores!

    Hey Muse!

I know this is a litttttle late, but if you could still help me out that would be so great … So I just ordered this primer on Sephora.com because it really looks like everything I have been looking for in a primer. I have drier skin, and it’s been a little breakout-y lately (mid-20’s skin changing), so this one sounds great. My biggest issue, though, is actually getting the makeup to stay on my face for the duration of my day.

I’ve tried so many primers, on top of the ones I used to use before my skin started acting up, I recently tried at least 12 from Sephora in those little sample jars (took them home, used them for about 2-3 days each). The one that I liked the most was NARS’ Pro-Prime Light Optimizing primer. If I put too much of it on, my skin would be way too shiny, but if I put the right amount, my foundation went on better than it has in years and it STAYED on … right up until I took it all off at the end of the day.

I know that you said you didn’t see “too much of an extension” in the wear of your foundation with this new primer from Too Faced, but I was wondering what exactly are you comparing that to? Sorry for such a long comment, this whole primer shopping thing has just been a HUGE pain for me over the last … at least 3 months. I just want to get it right sooo bad and get back to how my skin and makeup used to look. It’s really rough going through such severe skin changes and having to switch up my whole routine and get new products that are better for my new skin concerns.

The Sephora by me didn’t have the new Too Faced primers in stock yet, so I just picked it up from the website (based on the reviews on the website) and it should be here tomorrow. If I don’t like it, then I’m definitely going to return and get the NARS primer (which I only ever sampled – I never actually bought the product). I just wanted to know what I’m getting into here as far as foundation durability goes. And, as always, thank you for the great review!

glad you enjoy the review Amanda. It’s hard to make promises about how long a foundation will last with a primer because it’s going to vary from skin type to skin type. For my drier skin with a slightly oily t-zone at the moment because of the Summer this doesn’t really extend the length of my foundation wear very much but does allow it to stay fresher longer, so it isn’t clinging to drier areas, doesn’t look mask-like on my face, etc…it gives it a more natural, flawless finish but unfortunately my foundation length is maybe extended about 30 minutes to an hour at most but it isn’t going to make my foundation wear for say a solid eight hours. Hope this helps!

I’m just going to have to try it out and see. I have so many different primers to compare it to now, and I also just bought the Mist & Fix setting spray from MUFE and I honestly think I like it better than the UD setting spray I’ve used for the last few years, so hopefully that will work well with the primer and everything will last a bit longer. Thank you so much for the quick reply!

it really is a matter of testing and seeing what works best for your skin type. You’ll def come across the product or products that work for you at some point! It just takes a little testing, trial, and error 🙂 Hope you find the perfect primer for yours skin Amanda 🙂
