L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner (New Shades Fall 2014) Review & Swatches

L'Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner New Shades

True Teal, Pure Purple, Green Ivy, Colbalt Blue, Silver, and Gold are brand new shades of L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner that will be available permanently for Fall 2014.

Originally L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner was released for Spring 2014 (back in April) and at the time I expressed I’d love to see some more shades because the formula was incredible so these new shades come at a great time! I’m very excited the Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner is available in ten shades now.

But one is still missing…!

Hey, L’Oreal why no brown!? You covered a great range of shades but no brown!? Why!? Oh well! I forgive you because some of these shades are lovely.

LOreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner does so deserve a place on my best drugstore eyeliner list as this formula is pretty darn exciting and now even better thanks to the new shades!

L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner Swatches (New Shades Fall 2014) (From left to right: True Teal, Silver, Black, Charcoal, Cobalt Blue, Gold, Green Ivy, Highlighter, Plum, and Pure Purple)

LOreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner promises 16 hours of wear without smearing, fading, or flaking. On my drier eyes it wears for ten hours and on my waterline for at least five. It removes easily as well at the end of the night! The color is extra creamy and applies beautifully without skipping or tugging. These are buttery smooth and rival Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner and Milani Liquid Eye’s formula.

The formula is much like L’Oreal Extra Intense Liquid Pencil but isn’t as glossy in finish. So if you disliked the glossiness of Extra Intense Liquid Pencil you might like the more satiny matte finish of the Silkissime.

I found a majority of the shades even work well on my waterline which is a rarity with color eyeliners. These are quite pigmented and require very little work to apply.

You likely don’t need to purchase the basic black if you already own Extra Intense Liquid Pencil but since Extra Intense Liquid Pencil does not have the color variety, the Silkissime does open up new doors. There are shades liquid metal shades like gold and silver which are incredibly intense and metallic or more bright, vibrant shades like a gorgeous teal and purple. Some of these shades are quite different for L’Oreal!

I love how drugstore eyeliners have evolved. I remember a time many formulas were very dry and dense. L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner proves you can get an excellent formulated eyeliner pencil at the drugstore for under ten bucks! Just a minor complaint, I need a brown one!

L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner gets a Muse Approval!

Great new line up of shades and still a fabulous formula to boot!

Anyone indulge in any of the new shades?

I love the look of these. Especially the gold one and the silver one, I will have to check them out.

  • Gillie

I am such as sucker for colors like green ivy and these look fabulous. You’re right, though…brown would be a perfect addition to this line up. What an odd choice by L’Oreal.

  • Adrienne

These look awesome. The cobalt blue is stunning-thanks for the swatches as many times I have been disappointed because the color on the cap isnt as pigmentented. They do remind me a bit of my UD Black Market but the Cobalt Blue and Pure Purple are musts for me. Once I find them! I’d like to see the swatches of the Revlon skinny in the Electric Blue that you mentioned,to do a comparison. I’m not good with liquid eyeliners but I do love my blues and purples all year round.

    • Isabella Muse

my pleasure Adrienne 🙂 hope you find them they are lovely!

  • kimkats

Ooooo…. the green one and the plum one shall be mine!! (at least as soon as they wend their way to the Nowheresville in which I live….)

    Thanks for the swatches/reviews, Muse!!! I probably would have passed these by were it not for you… Um, wait, whut?? You’re responsible for me spending $$ on makeup! (yeah, yeah… that’s my story and I’m sticking to it) :-}

  • Laura

The colors look fabulous, though I have read some reviews of people not being able to sharpen the pencils because of the gold ring. Have you found that to be the case?

    • Isabella Muse

interesting! I sharpened my black one twice but I didn’t really reach to the gold ring, it sharpened back to a point fine but as you go down further I imagine that ring might be an issue hm! Will have to sharpen one all the way down and see what happens!

    • Kimberly

I hear that the nars pencil sharpener cuts right through it.

    • Tammie

I’ve just been using a crummy Essence one and I haven’t had any issues sharpening through the gold ring.

    • Mel.kat

I have issues sharpening mine. My Revlon sharpener won’t sharpen at all. I need to clean my pencil sharpener and use it

  • Christina D.

I saw these at Harmon’s and although the colors looked lovely, I passed since I have not had a positive experience with any L’Oreal pen liners in the past. But maybe, just maybe, I might try the charcoal and the plum…but then that will lead to the cobalt and purple…and where will it end?!

  • Veronica

I have Highlighter, which is a truly lovely shade. Sadly, these do not work on my waterline, but few eyeliners do. I may have to pick up a few more looking at these swatches!

    • Isabella Muse

they do well on mine! (not highlighter as much though) but the other shades work quite well for me 😀 Sorry they didn’t work for you Veronica 🙁

  • Apurva

OMGGGGGG IMMA GOING BROKE THIS WEEKEND. How much do these cost? Love this. 😀

  • Stephanie

Oh man, I love your swatches. Do you know how similar the Cobalt blue is to UD Chaos? I think I may have to make a trip and pick up a few of these. I’m loving the cobalt and silver!

    • Isabella Muse

I didn’t compare them but they def seem very similar stephanie! 🙂

  • Tammie

I have Highlighter but I have to get more of these, they are really good and fun too 🙂

  • Erica

I want them. I want them all. If these actually work on my waterline, I’ll forgive the fact that I need to sharpen them. 😛

  • cat

Everything smudges on me! Are you sure these won’t smudge? I would say I have dry eyes too which is why it’s so weird. I’m drawn to True Teal as I have an UD pencil and a Tarte liner in similar shades that I love except for the fact that they smudge and then I look like a weird raccoon.

    • Isabella Muse

cat I can’t really be sure of anything because makeup will vary from skin type to skin type so I can’t make any guarantees 🙂 they don’t smudge on my dry eyes nor do they smear or flake but I can’t promise they won’t on you! It’s def going to vary in experience for everyone! Hopefully they work as great on you as they do on me! 🙂

  • Georgia

Wow, many of these eyeliners look like affordable dupes for Urban Decay. Is green ivy similar to UD’s Stash eyeliner? Does the L’Oreal charcoal eyeliner have some shimmer or glitter in it?

    • Isabella Muse

not sure I didn’t compare the shades! no shimmer in the charcoal, it’s just the light is hitting it a certain way 🙂

  • CatG

Wow, these look great! First product I’ve gotten excited over in a while!

  • Mel.kat

Think that the teal will become mine! I already have the black, plum (looks more navy), and highlighter

  • Ayman

Wow….The shades are really gorgeous but here in Canada not all of the shades are available. I have “highlighter”. I really want Gold and Pure Purple.

  • Taryn

My mom actually got one of the Silkissime pencils in Dark Brown not long after they launched! It was April or May.I believe she found it at Walmart if you’re still looking for a brown in this collection 🙂

  • zFashionizta

Cobalt, ivy, plum purple look lovely, maybe I’ll try a couple the next time they go on sale.

  • hazal brown

I bought loreal paris super liner silkissime.but after using for five times its nip is over.now i cant use it .plz tell me how touse it now

  • Lisa Tomko

I have the Plum one and I use it to tightline. I love it. It makes the whites of your eyes appear whiter and brighter. It’s a lovely shade but to me it’s more blue than plum. Pretty none the less. It’s got pretty good staying power also and I have very tricky waterlines. I love this liner, it’s one of my faves!
