L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Blush Review & Swatches

L'Oreal Visible Lift Blur Blush

L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Blush is yet another new, permanent product launching with the new L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Collection for Fall 2014. I’ve reviewed and loved both the L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Concealer and L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Foundation for you so I was bracing myself for an excellent experience with the L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Blush as well.

But I came out of this review confused.

L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Blush not to be confused with the original cream Visible Lift Blushes is a new squeeze tube blush available in three shades that’s popping up at drugstores for Fall 2014.

I decided I’d purchase all three shades of the blush shades thinking I’d make great use out of these.

These blushes have a silicone formula, the likes of which you’ll see in from many silicone based facial primers. So think of the formula as a tinted version of say Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. It’s great for those that like silicone primers or those with larger pores that have issues with powder or cream blushes that tend to accentuate visible pores. Not so great if you dislike silicone primers and have less visible pores (that’d be me!).

I find the formula CONFUSING as hell. Why? First off the Visible Lift Blur Concealer and Foundation have a gorgeous creamy texture and wouldn’t you know it the Soft Peach shade in the Visible Lift Blur Blush has the same gorgeous texture. The creamy consistency quite reminds me of Armani Cheek Fabric Blush. But wait, the formula is inconsistent as the other two shades, Soft Berry, and Soft Pink, have a more clumpy silicone primer style texture! Eh!? What happened here…As I squeeze the tube on these two shades little clumps of blush shoot out, the texture of which reminds me of the awful Hard Candy Shine-Free Sheer Envy Primer I recently reviewed poorly! I dislike silicone based primers but at the least silicone primers have a texture that isn’t as weirdly clumpy as this blush. This tends to pill and roll around on my finger but thankfully it applies and blends easily enough on my cheeks. Phew!

Soft Peach versus Soft Berry Inconsistencies and Comparisons

Two out of the three shades have excellent pigment those being Soft Pink and Soft Berry with Soft Peach having a more subtle color pay off that didn’t show up on my skin tone but may work for a paler tone. I think the colors are unnaturally bright and don’t really work for me. A little goes a very look way but they are fairly vibrant so I never felt like I had gently flushed cheeks but more of a “Hey HOW you doing!?” finish.

The nice part is they do have a very smooth, airbrushed appearance although Soft Peach is more of a dewy to the touch finish. The way it blends out it’ll likely create a very smooth, even layer of color and might just blur the appearance of pores! I don’t have visible pores on my face but it is a safe assumption these will give a very smooth look! I can get a nice 8 hour wear before I see some fading from these even in warmer weather.

L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Blush wasn’t a product I personally liked. If all three shades had the same consistency as Soft Peach I’d dare call it an almost Armani-like dupe but there are some inconsistencies here that vary from shade to shade to say. Some might love the silicone texture but I think drier skin with less visible pores might not love the silicone texture. They really need to work on the texture! It’s kinda comes out of the tube in clumpy little spurts which isn’t exactly a nice formulation in my humblest.

Good wear here and very easy to blend out and apply but I’m just not a silicone kinda gal so they missed the mark for me.

L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Blush are launching now at drugstores.

I purchased this item.

Bummer, these looked so promising! I was so confused at your swatches with the different texture til i read through and that’s very perplexing. What’s up with the inconsistency in the consistency?!

I’ll be pasing on these 🙁

    • Isabella Muse

just missed the mark for me lacy 🙁 weird inconsistencies!

    • SexySenior

I experienced the same with the consistency. When I gently press the tube a transparent kind of liquid comes out and then some color spurts out in a clump. I started using a thin wire hair pick that I insert in the top hole and mix it up before I extract it from the tube. Seems to help but I experienced the same as you did, in that the color of the peach is a little too weak for my skin tone. Very disappointed! I had high hopes for this cream on my aging skin. Guess I’ll keep experimenting. Glad I found your Musings!!

      • Isabella Muse

that’s actually a good idea, to mix it before squirting it out maybe I’ll try that. Sad sigh! totally can relate SexySenior! Sorry you had issues :-/

i have always preferred powder blushes…i find it easier to blend out!u look radiant in all the pictures though!

muse, have u tried any of the new makeup geek blushes by any chance?

  • Trish

Haven’t tried them but wow, what a difference in consistencies….I kinda like the peach swatch.

  • cat

Not sure if Soft Berry looks better on you than the other shade or if I’m just in love with that shade of lipstick on you. What are you wearing on your lips in that photo?

  • Marilyn

Great! Will keep a look out for the coral one. Have you tried Daniel sandler water blush? I wanted to know how you feel about water blushers.

    • Isabella Muse

Daniel sandler was disappointing for me. It dries up and proved difficult to squeeze out of the tube from the get go! But water blush in general is lovely when done right 🙂

  • Monica

I got a water blush from Etude House & it’s difficult to use but looks gorge when done right. I’m still a sucker for Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour & Bare Minerals Fruit Cocktail.

  • Marcey

Is there a chance you got faulty ones? All mine are same consistency and payoff. Hm.
I also have dry skin and they look wonderful. Typically silicone doesn’t work as good but I love these.

    • Isabella Muse

nope, returned and repurchased the shade and it had the same texture! weirdness! 🙂 I’m glad you liked them marcey! I don’t really like silicone either :-/

  • Alexandra

i bought all three shades and i didnt like any of them. the first one i tried was the berry and when it came out i was disgusted! i thought the two richer shades were dried up or there was something wrong with my tubes. I didnt like the way they felt on my skin (im a nut for good texture so i hated these) and when i tried the peach, i found it to be too messy on my skin. i threw them all away immediately.
i figured something was wrong with the makeup that i bought and went online to see what they really looked like when swatched.
thank god i found your review, muse! you saved me the money i would have spent on these three colors! if it wasnt for you, i would be once again disappointed with my purchase.
    youre a life saver

Hi Alexandra! I swear we must be in the minority as everyone has raved these but I hated them 🙂 Awwww thank you! Flattered!
