French Kiss and PatentPink are two limited edition MAC PatentPolish Lip Pencils launching with the MAC Sharon Osbourne portion of the MAC Sharon and Kelly Collection that launched recently online at maccosmetics.com and will be available in stores next week!

The MAC Sharon Osbourne Collection contains four limited edition shades of PatentPolish Lip Pencils one of which is a repromoted shade and the other three are brand new. MAC PatentPink PantentPolish Lip Pencil is actually the repromoted shade so beware prior to a purchase that you don’t already own it! Or hey you might want to repurchase it as it does come in special edition red packaging featuring Sharon’s autograph.

I’ve actually reviewed MAC PatentPolish Lip Pencils in great detail in another post so this will be a rather shorter version for those that wanted info and details on the shades released with Sharon’s Collection.

MAC PatentPink PatentPolish Lip Pencil looks like something that should have been included with Kelly’s Collection. This is a soft lilac that I can’t really see Sharon wearing!

The other shade I tried was MAC French Kiss PatentPolish Lip Pencil which is the shade I liked the most of the two. This is a darker caramel brown that applies very naturally on lips. Count me surprised as it was considerably brown so I expected it to apply darker but it applies with just a touch of natural color for more of a nude look!

MAC PatentPolish Lip Pencils are a unique texture and they aren’t like traditional chubby pencils you’ve seen from brands such as Revlon, Clinique, or Tarte. MAC really did a truly unique spin on their variation of the chubby pencil. Each is a swivel up design so no sharpening is needed and they have a dome shaped tip which I love as it fits the contour of my lips beautifully. They have a tacky, sticky consistency that hugs lips and allows them to wear extra long. MAC markets them as a product that provides the color and shine of a gloss. I don’t really find them terribly hydrating and they do tend to accentuate drier lips and tend to creep into my natural lip lines making them look patchy and uneven. A little gloss helps considerably when using this pencil but does defeat their main purpose.

If you’re a fan of MAC PatentPolish Lip Pencils I’m sure Sharon’s colors will end up in your cart. However, those who disliked them the first go around don’t expect any new and improved formula here just a relaunch of new and old shades.

I prefer Clinique Chubby Sticks, but the French Kiss being a warm caramel brown has me interested!

it’s a very nice shade, it looks very natural on! I expected it to be browner and unwearable for me but it actually applies sheerer and looks good or at least I think it does 😀
