MAC Sharon Osbourne Review & Swatches
The MAC Sharon and Kelly Osbourne Collection will be available shortly on counter (it’s online already at maccosmetics.com)! My favorite portion of the collection was the MAC Sharon Osbourne Collection products and shades. I’m more a Sharon than a Kelly as I like the warmth of Sharon’s Collection compared to the cooler shades in Kelly’s Collection!
Here’s a few pieces I tried out recently from the collection!
Sharon’s makeup collection comes housed in red packaging with her autograph in lilac. It’s pretty basic but still very pretty! If you notice Sharon’s autograph matches Kelly’s packaging where as Kelly’s autograph, in red, matches Sharon’s, it’s kinda a cute feature!
Aside from Sharon’s Eyeshadow Quad I think the MAC Peaches & Cream Blush was the item I wanted most from her collection. MAC Peaches & Clear Blush isn’t exactly peach in the pan but does apply as such. MAC calls it a rose shade but it’s kinda a cooler pink that looks peachy on my cheeks so you might find the color varies from skin tone to skin tone. It’s quite pretty and has a rather lovely luminosity to it even though the color is a satin finish sans any sparkle or shimmer. It looks a little dry in the pan and dare I say even chalky but it’s actually very silky, blends easily, and wears for a solid eight hours without fading on my drier skin! I would recommend a pick up!

If you’re a MAC PatentPolish fan girl or guy you’ll be happy to know that Sharon’s portion of the collection includes four shades. With so many chubby pencils on the market at the moment it’s no surprise that MAC decided they wanted to create their own uniquely textured pencil. According to MAC these have the color and shine of a gloss. Each is a swivel up design with a domed tip that does not require sharpening. I tried two of the four shades one of which was French Kiss and the other Patentpink. They both have a tacky, sticky consistency that really grips and hugs lips making them wear for a fairly long time. I do find they accentuate drier lips and tend to creep into my natural lip lines badly. When I originally reviewed the pencils I experienced much of the same so these colors aren’t really an improvement on that formula. A little clear gloss will clear things up but the entire point of the pencil was for it to act like a gloss! I don’t really find them moisturizing and although slightly balmy they really aren’t anything like the formulas you’ve likely seen from brands like Tarte, Clinique, etc…! Patentpink is a repromoted shade so do check your stash just in case as you might already own it. I did like French Kiss and it is a shade that hasn’t launched prior! This looks brown but actually applies as a very natural, lighter shade on my lips (I’ll be reviewing it separately shortly). If you like the PatentPolish range I’m sure you’ll enjoy these but if you didn’t like them there isn’t any improvement here.

MAC Refresh Mineralize Skinfinish Duo is next up on the list of items I tried from this collection. This contains two shades one of which, that dominates the compact, is a bronzer and the smaller portion is a highlighter. The bronzer can be used for contouring work should you like or as an all over bronzer to add a hint of warm tan to cheeks and face. It’s a bit powdery but it blends easily and creates a natural touch of the sun on my face. The highlighter is more a golden beige-y peach. It’s very pretty! Too bad MAC didn’t realease it as a Mineralize Skinfinish on its own. It isn’t too chalk either and creates a pretty luminous glow on cheeks. I’m not really into the bronzer all that much but used together the product creates a warm radiance on skin!

And the final product I tried from this collection was MAC Pussy Willow Lipglass. This is a pretty champagne beige with a good deal of shimmer which makes it a nice golden gloss for using on top of lipstick. On its own the color is pretty but can be a pain because as it fades it leaves behind a good deal of shimmer on bare lips. It has a sticky, tacky texture that wears for around three hours on my lips with a vanilla fragrance and flavor. I think the shimmer factor could be overwhelming to some! I don’t really mind myself and think it looks particularly lovely on top of a red lipstick. However, on its own it’s a bit messy as it wears away!

For me Sharon’s Collection does have some really pretty pieces which I am enjoying! I’ll review these products with some looks in an upcoming post so you can see what they look like on! Kelly’s Collection is lovely but the warmth of Sharon’s is far more appealing to me so if you love warmer makeup I’d definitely hit up Sharon’s Collection prior to Kelly’s.
