MAC True Love Lipsticks

MAC True Red Lipstick is one of four beautiful, limited edition lipsticks that launched with the MAC Pedro Lourenço Collection for Summer 2014.

MAC True Red Lipstick launches just in time for Summer as this is a beautiful shade of bright, vibrant orange which will be perfect for Summer orange lip trend looks.

Take a look!

MAC True Red Lipstick is a strong and vibrant orange with a hint of red undertone which makes it more of a tangerine shade. It does have an amplified finish which is very, very forgivable. I say forgivable because some of the amplified lipsticks that MAC launches are sometimes very dry on my drier lips but this SO creamy! It glides on like butter and has a rich, creamy texture that’s very much worth raving about. It pretty much applies opaque on a single pass and just gets more and more vibrant and more and more bold with each layer you add. It wears for about five hours on me with very minor fading at hour six and when it full wears away it does leave a slight stain behind. The wear is very comfortable and dare I say even feels hydrating.

The color is obviously sometime to rave but the texture and consistency of the lipstick is one of the best parts about it. MAC did well with this one. The wear, the pigment, the formula, it all adds up to a great MAC Lipstick. MAC has been a little inconsistent lately with formulas but this is testimony to the fact they create great makeup!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. For some reason I can’t get excited about this lipstick.

    Hi Muse,
I have a question/request. It’s impossible to use all the makeup that you purchase or get sent. What do you do with it? Do you have hard rules about when you’ll toss a product? I’d appreciate it if you could write a post as I’ve been wondering the same thing about my comparatively much smaller makeup collection. It looks like I’m on my way to becoming a hoarder.

Also, what does it mean if a newly opened cream blush looks like it is “sweating”? I tried looking it up but google got confused and found me posts on dealing with nervousness (blushing/sweating).

I label my foundations/skincare/gloss and other cream products that I keep with a date so I know when I opened them and when they’ll like expire. Powders/blushes/etc are good for close to three years so I don’t have issues much there. Gently used items I give to my sister and anything unused I either donate to my mom who gives it to her senior group or I give it to a the salvation army or use it for giveaways. Not many of my friends are into makeup but occasionally they’ll be interested to pick through my unused or even gently used pile. My best friend is as crazy about beauty as I am so he’s constantly in picking through my piles of unused/used to test out new stuff/etc but not much that he hasn’t tried so typically he doesn’t really “score” many products from me! it’s just the oils used in the makeup that’s coming to the surface, nothing to worry about! Hope this helps! labeling really helps because at least you can rotate through and maybe see if something went off…sometimes even if it goes off I keep it in a separate spot because I want want to reference back to a shade or a formula in a review and it always helps to have the item still handy even if it has expired.
