Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Foundation for Lightweight Coverage
Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Foundation offers a new way to get lightweight, natural coverage this Fall. Liquid fluid isn’t a new medium as Armani was one of the first brands to venture into the liquid foundation world. But we’re seeing more and more fluid foundations and I imagine they’ll be huge come Fall.
I imagine Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Foundation will likely be compared to L’Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder, a product I didn’t like, but I’m here to tell you it’s much better and not like L’Oreal’s formula.
Take a look!
Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Foundation comes in a glass jar and features a tear drop application with a tiny point at the end. As of now displays appear to have 12 shades but this is a permanent product for Fall 2014 so perhaps we’ll see more shades launch at some point.
I have to say I dislike the glass jar because I’m clumsy. I picture myself dropping this on my bathroom title and having it explode all over me and the floor in a million pieces. Eeep!
Maybelline recommends shaking well prior to using and slowly remove the wand from the top of the bottle. Please be careful when doing this. I noticed the rim and lip of the bottle gets very messy, very quickly and the wand tends to drip foundation all over the place. Just be careful you don’t get it on your clothes as you remove it.
The applicator is a plastic tear drop shape with a fine point at the end. The point allows for you to drip the foundation onto your fingertip without touching the applicator. This is great for me. I use my fingers when I apply foundation and bb cream so this works out fine for me. It could frustrate those who use a brush to apply foundation though as you might feel the bottle and applicator are messy when removing more foundation to use with a brush. Personally I think this applies best fingers anyway!
The texture is beautiful. It’s very runny yet hydrating with a slightly dewy finish. It does not adhere to my drier areas and creates a very smooth, even finish on my skin. Coverage ranges from sheer but can be built up for more coverage although keep in mind this will never be a medium or full coverage foundation. It should do well covering smaller visible pores, redness, darkness, and will even out skin tone giving a brighter, smoother appearance. I find it fades quickly on my skin so you do have to set with powder to extend the wear. It absorbs super fast and provides a very seamless, natural look on my skin but almost within two hours of wear I feel like it slips off into never never land. However, when setting with powder I can get a decent five hours of wear (I just dislike using powder to set as I have drier skin!).

Needless this has a lot of going things going for it. First off the texture and coverage is very unique to drugstore foundations and very easy to use as it absorbs and blends out picture perfectly. It also has a beautiful seamless look that brightens skin and creates a very natural your skin but better look. The wear time though is a little iffy…..it’ll likely vary from skin type to skin type but I see it wearing pretty shortly on oily skin and not much better for drier!
Overall, if the shorter wear time that Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Foundation provides doesn’t bother you, I’d say this formula is quite gorgeous and well worth checking out for breathable, lightweight, flawless coverage!
It’s launching now at drugstores.
