Maybelline Dramatic Black Color Tattoo Eyeshadow Review & Swatches

Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow Dramatic Black

Maybelline Dramatic Black Color Tattoo Eyeshadow is part of the new range of Maybelline Leather Color Tattoo Eyeshadows that are launching with the Dare to Go Nude Fall 2014 Collection.

We actually already have Maybelline Stroke of Midnight Color Tattoo Eyeshadow that launched for Spring 2014 but that contained sparkle and the new Maybelline Dramatic Black Color Tattoo is an inky, pigmented black sans any sparkle.

As you can see above Maybelline Dramatic Black Color Tattoo Eyeshadow is considerably richer and deeper than Stroke of Midnight. I don’t really apply black eyeshadow all over my eyes. Well, I should say I can’t! I used to be able to do a fairly nice smoky eye using a good deal of black but my eyes are older and drier now and all black simply doesn’t work for me. If you are one for applying black as a shadow you’ll love this texture. It’s very creamy with a very intense pay off. It does streak a little during the blending process so you’ll have to build slowly! The nice part is you can smoky it out as well for a softer look or use it as a base for a smoky eye! The color is very versatile so whether you’re going bold and dramatic of soft and subtle you can definitely customize the application to suit your look.

The nice thing about Dramatic Black is it does in fact double up as an eyeliner. Color applies smoothly on my drier eyes and sets to a nice matte finish that doesn’t budge until I remove it at the end of the day. I had no issues with it smearing, flaking, or smudging but remember I have drier eyes, unsure how oily lids will go!

Maybelline Dramatic Black Color Tattoo Eyeshadow is actually a shade I questioned whether I’d use often but after trying it I realize I’ll likely fit it into many of my evening looks easily whether as a soft wash of color for a smoky eye or as a liner and hey, if by some chance I want to cash in on my goth card I can def build it all over my lid for an intense look!

I located it at Bed, Bath, and Beyond but the Maybelline Fall 2014 Collection should be popping in more stores come July and from my understanding these new Color Tattoos are permanent!

I purchased this item.

I haven’t tried Dramatic Black yet but so far I am loving the newest CTs. Of course I have a knee jerk reaction and must buy all of them, but this bunch has justified my OCD-ness when it comes to CTs.
