New Lush SPF Moisturizers for Summer

Lush Million Dollar Moisturizer

Lush Million Dollar Moisturizer, Lifesaver, and Sesame Suntan Lotion are three new Lush SPF Moisturizers that have launched for Summer 2014.

You might just be a fond fan of Lush moisturizers, I can’t leave without my Gorgeous, so I find it great the now Lush has SPF in their some of their newer Moisturizers as this was lacking in the line!

Lush Sesame Suntan Lotion (UVA)
Sesame Suntan Lotion is the low calorie SPF lotion for skin created toasted sesame oil, cocoa butter, aloe vera, and an SPF 10.

Luah Sesame Suntan Lotion

Lush Million Dollar Moisturizer (UV)
This honey, shea butter, and jojoba oil moisturizer contains an SPF 30.

Lush Lifesaver Sunscreen Cream (UVA)
A rich cream made with Fair Trade shea butter, calamine powder, and an infusion of mint and eucalyptus as well as an SPF 30 to protect skin!

Lush Lifesaver Sunscreen Cream

Lush the Sunblock
A solid, wash-on sun protection, with calamine powder, cocoa butter and rose absolute. Lush claims one third of the bar is enough to protect your whole body. Glide it on damp skin in your shoewer, rinse off, and gently pat to dry. It’s created with three broad spectrum sunscreens according to Lush.

I’m a little confused with the way they have some of these listed as some are broad spectrum protections and others are supposedly protecting against UV rays only or UVA….! I think I’ll call Lush prior to a purchase to verify the coverage just to be safe!

These are available at www.lush.co.uk and will likely be available at Lush NA shortly.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Feels a little bit strange to be applying SPF out of a pot or washing it on. You should definitely update us on how you get on with these new products.

Interesting. I’ve read that in the UK SPF products have to be labeled very differently than in the US. I’d like to try the Million Dollar Moisturizer if it does come to the US stores.

Don’t be confused by the UVA labeling – in Europe it means that 1/3 of the number of SPF is also UVA protection, and the SPF 30 means a 30 in UVB – so UVA is 10. I don’t know whether I’ve explained it correctly, but SPF labeling here is somewhat different than yours 🙂

Yeaaaaaah, I ain’t buying the wash-off sunscreen part. Sunscreen actives need to stay on your skin in order to, you know, work as a shield.

The “sun protection” label on the moisturizers feels a bit iffy, too. I guess I’d have to wait for an ingredients list to be released before determining whether it really does offer a broad spectrum protection or not.

Lush use three sunscreens. Octocrylene, Octylmethoxycinnamate and Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane which together protect against UVA & UVB (surface level and deep sun damage).

ALL sunscreens on sale anywhere have to be tested thoroughly before they can claim sun protection – Lush has tested every product on humans using a laboratory in the US and therefore are completely safe to use. You can’t declare sun protection if you don’t offer it. 🙂

To top it all off, they include ingredients such as sesame oil, titanium dioxide and chamomile powder which provide extra natural sun protection.

Yay! I’ve been waiting for this ever since seeing these guys on a blog.

Finally Lush releases SPF moisturizers! Unfortunately, these aren’t available here in the US yet…..

    • Melissa

They won’t be available in the US… In the US all sunscreens are deemed pharmaceuticals and thus are FDA regulated. As such, they must be tested on animals prior to market.
