Rimmel Moisture Renew Universal Transparent Lip Liner Review

Rimmel Moisture Renew Universal Transparent LipLiner

Rimmel Moisture Renew Universal Transparent Lip Liner is a new transparent lip liner launching for Fall 2014 with a new formulated selection of Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipsticks.

I happen to be one of those girls that’s lipstick and gloss likes to take a road trip around her face so Rimmel Moisture Renew Universal Transparent Lip Liner is a welcome addition to Rimmel’s permanent collection.

Did I like it?

Rimmel Moisture Renew Universal Transparent Lip Liner isn’t a new product it is however, new to the US market. This set me back $4.99 at Walgreens and I also saw it for the same price at CVS recently.

I don’t use lip liner in any of my looks because I dislike how it tends to stick around well after my lipstick fades away. I’d be that dorky person walking around with liner all around her lips and no lipstick on. Yay me! So I choose to wear transparent lip liners instead. It’s actually great because it keeps my lipgloss and lipstick from migrating and it’s clear so once my lipstick wears away I’m not left with an outline around my lips!

Rimmel Moisture Renew Universal Transparent Lip Liner

I actually prefer Milani Anti-Feathering Lipliner over Rimmel Moisture Renew Universal Transparent Lip Liner because I find the tip is bigger and I feel like it distrubes more product around my lips.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Universal Transparent Lip Liner is a mechanical twist up pencil without a sharpener. I find the point is a bit too small and fine for me. It’s good because the finer tip gives more precise application but I find the tip dulls down very quickly and I have no way to get a sharp tip back. I also think the smaller tip means I’m applying a heck of a lot less liner and that results in my lipgloss and lipstick still have migration issues so it defeats the purpose of applying the transparent liner in the first place.

Unfortunately, Rimmel Moisture Renew Universal Transparent Lip Liner failed to please! I prefer a thicker tip and someway to sharpen the pencil back to a point! But if you have smaller lips this might be a packaging you embrace although I did still feel like I wasn’t applying anything on my lips and I noticed the effects too because my lipstick and gloss was still traveling around my lip line after application!

I purchased this item.

I love that there are more drusgtore options of these coming out. I have the ultra expensive (comparatively) “No bleeding lips” which I love, but I need to give the Milani a try.

A Muse after my own heart! You know how much I luuurrrve the Milani liner so I’m pleased you don’t like the Rimmel 😛. Rimmel lip liners always give me a big pimple on my lip line. I even tried one again recently and again I got a whopper of a zit.

I rely on my transparent Milani liner whenever I put lipstick on in the morning. Especially with brighter colors! It’s a tad hard to sharpen, but whatever. I also picked up their wax eyebrow pencil they make when I bought the lip liner (BOGO 50% at CVS!), and those were some of my favorite drug store purchases that I’ve made in a while.

I use the wax eyebrow pencil all the time too! can’t live without it 😀

That tip is too tiny for my tastes, and I’ve never been crazy about Rimmel lip products (too scented and distracting for me.) I like the e.l.f. one, though. It’s thicker but subtle. I mainly use that if I’m wearing red lipstick and don’t want it to migrate.

I always sharpen these automatic pencils by rubbing them against a sheet of paper
