Victoria’s Secret VS Pro Magic FX Holographic Lip Shimmer Review & Swatches

Victoria's Secret VS Pro Magic FX Holographic Lip Shimmer

Victoria’s Secret VS Pro Magic FX Holographic Lip Shimmer are lipglosses that released with the Victorias Secret Pro Magic FX Collection about a year ago. They are currently reduced and on clearance not only because it’s the Victoria’s Secret Semi-Annual Sale but also because Victoria’s Secrets will sadly no longer carry makeup.

I purchased two shades of the Victoria’s Secret VS Pro Magic FX Holographic Lip Shimmer (I’m unsure if there are more) for $3 bucks each. These have a huge dose of shimmer and micro pigments that give a multidimensional 3D jewel-like finish on lips with intense sparkle.

Take a look!

Bare Minerals just reintroduced Hypnotist Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss to their permanent collection recently (it was originally available in a Holiday gift set). You can actually go with Victoria’s Secret VS Pro Magic Holographic Lip Shimmer if you’re looking for a bit of a cheaper option. They aren’t similar formulas but they do create the same 3D fuller sparkling effect on lips.

These have a thinner formula with a buttery sweet taste and little to no shine once applied. They add more of a shimmery holographic look to lips versus any shine or glossiness but they do have a very lightweight, comfortable formula that isn’t sticky or tacky. On their own they are pretty and shimmery but the real charm is when you add gloss on top of them OR wear them on top of lipstick or lip stains. I find they add depth and dimension to a red lipstick or shimmery to gently stained or bare lips. They do look shimmery in photos but the finish has more of a iridescent look. They don’t migrate but as they fade they do leave a fair bit of shimmer behind on lips which is a bit frustrating as if you aren’t one for touching up you’ll look a bit messy with a bunch of glittery bits on your lips. Alone they wear for about two hours, worn on top of lipstick or lip stain it varies but depending on what you’re wearing under them they can wear for up to three or four hours.

Prismatic Pink on Lips

The effect is very similar to what Hypnotist Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss does and at a fraction of the cost so they might be worth hauling! I liked them but I disliked the mess they leave behind as they fade if you’re wearing on bare lips. But this isn’t a big deal since I like them best worn over lipsticks or stains. And worn like this they don’t really leave as much as a shimmery mess as color fades!

Available now at Victoria’s Secret.
