E.L.F. Disney Ariel Treasure Within Beauty Box

The E.L.F. Disney Ariel Treasure Within Beauty Box Palette ($10) is a new palette featuring nine shades of eyeshadow, bronzers, gloss, and tools for application inspired by the Little Mermaid.

The palette is likely familiar to you if you indulged in the E.L.F. Disney Villainous Collections that have come out for Fall the last two years as the style is the same but this time around E.L.F. is celebrating the Disney Princesses rather than Disney Villains.

Let’s take a look!

E.L.F. Disney Ariel Treasure Within Eyeshadow Palette

E.L.F. Disney Ariel Palette

As you can see the art work on the E.L.F. Disney Ariel Treasure Within Beauty Box Palette is stunning! It has a water print of Ariel on the cover and probably sports the best art work out of all the pieces in the collection. It is a cardboard palette so given time it’ll like break down a bit so you have to be careful with it as the cardboard isn’t particularly sturdy.

The palette opens to a tri-fold design that features a full size face chart to create two looks on the left hand side of the palette and on the right side you’ll find the makeup to do those looks.

The palette includes nine bright aquatic shadows with a few neutral, natural shades mixed in as well as an E.L.F. Essentials Eyeshadow Brush for application.

Go On and Kiss the Girl Lipgloss, Bronzers in Tan Lines and Conch Shell

Shadows include:

  • Sand Dollar
  • Coral Reef
  • Tropical Wave
  • North Star
  • For Shore
  • Siren Song
  • Seaweed
  • Seashell
  • Brilliant Sea

I think the shadows are much hit and miss! Some shades are buttery, even velvety with excellent pigmentation but some are sheerer, chalky, or too frosty. The best shades were For Shore, Seaweed, Brilliant Sea, and Siren Song others were a bit hit or miss. All the shades tend to crease rather badly and fade easily so I do recommend a primer to keep them wearing strong and long. I think the texture, pigment, and consistency of the shades are a step below E.L.F. Palettes I’ve personally tried in the past but for $5 I can’t complain too much.

The shadow brush included is a full size and of very good quality. The bristles are soft, they don’t shed, and it’s plenty dense enough to apply color yet soft enough to buff and blend shadow into your lid easily. Although the brush they include to apply the bronzer is considerably smaller with scratchy bristles and unfortunately shedding issues.

Both bronzers are quite nice. They actually swatch poorly and have a chalky texture but they apply very nicely with a smoother, silky formula that gives skin a touch of a golden tan. Conch Shell is the darker shade and probably the worst of the two since this tends to go on patchy and needs extra blending but Tan Lines was a very lovely golden tan that applied easily, blended out perfectly, and didn’t fade away easily.

They also include a lipgloss in Go On and Kiss the Girl which is a sheer milky pink that applies quite well without being too tacky or sticky. It has no fragrance or flavor and has a nice wear of about three hours leaving lips with a hint of tint and a shiny finish.

Granted E.L.F. Disney Ariel Treasure Within Beauty Box Palette can’t compete with the Sephora Disney Ariel Eyeshadow Palette that’s for sure! But at $10 it’ll prove a nice piece for collector’s or fans of the Little Mermaid plus you can get some fairly nice eye looks from the palette!

It’s available now at drugstore.com or at Walgreens.

The swatches look pretty decent! I like the colors and the bronzers look really nice too. This collection turned out to be nice! I just recently picked up the lashes set and I’m so in love with it! I want another one!

This was a cute looking palette with wonderful artwork, but I did not pick it up. I waited for the Soho makeup bags and Scuncci hair accessories instead, You should check those out Muse. I hauled all of those. I did get the Bronzer though and liked it a lot.

I ordered mine the day you posted about this originally and it still hasn’t shipped! It’s showing in stock though, so I’m rather confused. I’ll have to look into it, I wants it! The blues and green shadows are calling my name…

the artwork is so cute.. but i am having a hard time buying elf eye shadows, even tho they have so good products, I have found their eye shadows can be 80% miss 20% hit, I am not a makeup snob I buy A LOT of things from the drugstore and i am a sale/deal hunter but when the quality its not good paying 5-10 bucks feels like a waste 🙁

I want this. Enough said. I have been a fan of The Little Mermaid for the longest time, so when I saw this, I freaked out.
